Sir Gus
Hello, It would be nice when joining a server,to be able to automatically see the custom plane skins of other players. Its 2018 after all.. Thank you for reading. S!
Buzzles
No thanks, would rather not have to download masses of skins if I connect to a multiplayer server. Used to be very frustrating back in the day when joining any HL or UT based game, connecting and then spending many minutes downloading skins before I could actually play. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Shahdoh
Would be a nice feature, but as in all things, make it optional from both the server and client points of view.
Shadow KT
Yeah, maybe an option, but no forcing. If you have a big community which uses custom skins and plays together, you can always create a skin pack. drPhibes
I don't think you realize how much extra data traffic this would create. One skin for the Mig-21 can be over 500MB. If a server has to upload this to multiple users, the loading times would be astronomical.
Red Dragon-DK
Yes please. Just find a smart way to do it like they did in IL2. The copy you had in your cash folder was very small compared to the actual skin. Kang
i dont want to see your skin Well, I didn't want to point out how people who insist that everyone see their custom skin online are quite often precisely the people that make other people not want to see custom skins online... SkateZilla
when we have Specialized MP events in my group we put a Pre-Assembled pack online to be installed before joining the server, other wise you'll see the default textures. That method alone works the best IMHO. Integrating a System, where A User can join a Server and select his custom skin and the server has to coordinate sending it to everyone else at the tune of 50-500+MB Per Livery would start to stack up, plus it would be Very troublesome when you got these users that wanna do nothing but show off non-combat liveries to everyone in the server and they'd keep switching liveries putting a strain on the server. Normally you would install a personal custom skin in .../savedgames/liveries/.... So when a skin pack is provided, do these go in the savedgames as well, or do they get installed within dcs? I guess there would have to be net communication to show that Player X is using a partucular personal skin, different to Player Y. Cheers! Sir Gus
i dont want to see your skin So you dont wanna fly with your squadron's skins and be visible to all, or to see which squadron's plane you are shooting down?! Could be fun:D Edited November 13, 2018 by Sir Gus
Mars Exulte
@gus Not when comes to nitwits painted flying circus style or with anime teen girls on them. There are dozens of REAL squadrons ingame already. Don't need the fantasies flying around forcing you to download their gaudy, tasteless crap, or everytime he updates his kill tallies, and that is what this ends up in. Been there, done that already in various games/clans in the past.
