Here's a look at the wireframe of the sensor in the video. As you'll note, there is no superfluous geometry.

We use a AAA standard baking and sculpting workflow to generate surface detail in our normalmaps.

What's a ship of war without its' crew?

We've been working hard on creating a vast array of assets for our Forrestal class and other ships. Making the carrier feel alive and immersive and a top priority for us.

Enjoy some realtime screenshots of Mr. Greenshirt below. This is a game-ready model at LoD 0- and will look very similar in DCS. :)

We will be following up with plenty more on the peripheral equipment and art for the Forrestal. Stay tuned!

Meteor - Grim Memories

Heatblur is proud to announce that we’ve teamed up with the talented Meteor to create an all-new Top Gun inspired album just for DCS: F-14! The new album will ship for free together with the F-14 on release, offering a 10+ original song barrage of 80s music. The album will be inspired by the 1986 Top Gun soundtrack, and will be the perfect complement to tearing up the skies in your cat. Tasty leads and pounding synths galore!

Jorge from Meteor comments below:

“I'm very excited to work with Heatblur on a Top Gun inspired soundtrack for F-14. I am sure that this original soundtrack will expand the player experience and immerse people in an incredible retro and nostalgic atmosphere!”

Listen to ‘Grim Memories’ - one of several existing Meteor tracks to be included on the album as a bonus:

Ma che voi sappiate per questo modulo hanno rilasciato un' ETA o ancora non si sa nulla sulla data/periodo di possibile uscita?

Da che mi ricordo, correggetemi se sbaglio, avevano parlato di un generico fine 2017 senza dire di più...

Lets go back to discussing the F-14. :P

ED have to maintain an entire engine and platform; I'm sure their job is much more complex than ours, where we can focus and hunker down on just one aircraft at a time.

There is plenty of hype to come. Too much for everyones' heart to handle I bet.

Not long now and 3+ years of work will reach the beginning of their conclusion. :)[/quote

Work continues on high level radar, weapon and navigation functionality! Here's a couple of examples from the RIOs TID (Tactical Information Display). The TID displays information such as computer detected radar contacts, navigation steerpoints, datalinked targets and more.

As a RIO, you'll spend plenty of time looking at and using the TID. While you'll also need to be proficient at reading the DDD Radar Display, the TID will greatly aid you in establishing an overarching view of the tactical situation. Using your joystick, you'll be able to select (hook) and prioritize targets with ease.
