cobrabase
I know its a small milestone but.. I DID IT. I see completing all the stock missions and then the campaign for the flanker as... well.... a kind of mini-graduation. The first missions were damn tough and the learning curve is sharp but once you get the hang of the flight characteristics and practice its simply addictive. I'm right in that there are only 6 missions in the flanker campaign right? I finished the 6th mission escorting the ship-killers by cutting across land to... well... flank the defenders. I popped out on the shore-line right into two helicopters. Popped them. Went on to join the firefight. Wingman didn't make it but it came down to a face to face shootout between me and an F-16. Thanks to what I learned from you guys about the VS mode I got the first shot off but be quickly followed with an AIM-9. He went down. I though I was joining him but them I quickly noticed that despite my avionics being out my bird was responding! Hydraulics were leaking but I had both engines. I used the compass to get me home and landed my crippled bird using only visual cues. Wooo hoo!!! Now I'm off to learn the Su-25T and play user-created missions and campaigns for the Flanker. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Brit_Radar_Dude
I know its a small milestone but.. I DID IT. The learning curve is sharp but.....its simply addictive. Addictive? Yep, worse than heroin. You are hooked now, no escape! You will have no money (paying for upgrades to your rig). You will always be tired and look like **** (staying up late flying). Hydraulics were leaking but I had both engines. I used the compass to get me home and landed my crippled bird using only visual cues. Wooo hoo!!! I can still remember that buzz, I suspect we all can - LOL. It was some A-10 mission I D/L'ed from somewhere. Flying in the mountains, took some hits, losing fuel, one engine, half the control surfaces shot away. Lost the HUD and had to kill the last 2 trucks by aiming the cannon without a gun sight. Struggle back to Sochi, engine quits as I run out of fuel, one chance to make a no power visual landing. Jumping around the room yelling "Did you see that??" to the cat. 2 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....

Nice stuff I did F4 Phantom mission and got shot by a Shilka...lost my left engine had to fly a 100 miles back to base on one engine..by doing right rudder/engine reduced..and then glide my jet in for a 3 point landing..what a rush.. So, I know how you feel..keep it up.. Hope to see you at TCL-Team Combat League, flying with the big boys on some 1vs1 Gunz Only and 1vs1 Full LoadOut..action has gotten quite exciting over there now that the ladders have over 40 pilots competing for positions www.teamcombatleague.ca www.virtualtuskegeeairmen.com

Decerto
I'm stuck on the AWACS mission in the F-15 campaign, I've watched the vid on Flankertraining and everything but I have yet to shoot it down and survive. I bet I'll feel the same way when I finaly do it lol.
cobrabase
Keep low. Be patient and watch the RWR. It wasn't as easy as the flankertraining.com video. My escorts fought back. I defied convention (what I'm good at) and took my wingman with me. Much easier that way for me. Just make damn sure you keep on telling him to return to formation. No one followed me home.
