It’s the Hot variant. We tried to add Hind escort but it’s not really very efficient agains’t damned Phantom CAP. Flares and RWR are my best friends :music_whistling:

A friend asked for the Mistral escort but AI is quite inefficient and it’s not really historical. In MP maybe ?

So I am modding a DCE campaign for my squadron to fly and I would like to add more targets. I understand that I need to add them to targetlist_init.lua and the format but how in the hell do I find a targets x and y location?

Hi PB0_CEF,

 

I tried to install the campaigns as instructed and it's not showing under Mycampaigns Tab. Any tips?

 

 

Installed the campaigns on my saved games folder: F:\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech\DCE\Missions\Campaigns\FA-18C Battle Group Delta

 

And the engine here:

F:\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech\DCE

 

Also did the mod in the missionscript

 

I don't know what's going on. :-(

 

Edit: As I am using openbeta, tried to edit all 3 BATs and camp_init.lua paths. Ran the firstmission.bat but got no result on the My Campaigns Tabs. I am flying the "Hornet Over PG" latest version without problems.

 

Edit 2: Found the DCE tab under Campaigns (I was looking in My Campaigns tab). Infles the first mission but got a script error. (MissionScripting.lua mod is ok).

PB0, miguel et al.

Editing the init luas in order to change the oob, i was aiming to increase the amount of F18 sqdrns and have them available as a selection in MP ATO creating.

What i'm finding is that despite have a full squadron of f18s additional to VFA 131, the ATO can never find aircraft for the 2nd flight to support a package of F18s. The ato works fine if we select the F14bs of VF101 or M2000 for instance, the moment we select F18 as the second aiframe it will cycle the ATO 20 times and say that there is not enough aircraft available for second flight. This is despite packages being shown that have enough aircraft.

I've tried changing the loadout weightings, reducing the second F18 sqdrn to just SEAD and escort and moving them to various airfields, none of these changes result in them being tasked, each time getting the ' not enough aircraft available for 2nd flight' comment in the ATO generator.

Hi

to increase the chances of having a MP package, it is absolutely necessary to select a MAIN task for the first one and a SUPPORT task for the second one. (or vice versa)

example:

1-Task: STRIKE

2- Task : Escort

yep agreed.

So in the current first mission bat file. I can select 1 strike which i do each time.

for the second flight i cannot set a task in the bat file, however i have set the other f18 squadron to be solely responsible for sead and escort in their OOB field

is there a newer first mission/skip mission bat that allows to select the 2nd flights task?

i still get the above message and 20 tries.

Oops, yes it's true, you can't select the second task, but the principle is there, the first one has to be a TASK that accepts to have a support.

attached is the oob_air from init.

running the first mission bat to restart the campaign.

the only change is addition of VFA-122 set to the vinson with same setting as VFA-131 except only SEAD and ESCORT missions true. , and VF101 moved off the vinson to give VFA-122 sole access to it.

this is from a fresh install of the latest Hornet over PG to ensure all other files should be untouched.

The campaign is Hornet over PG?

If so, the Hornet must have a TASK MAIN and the F-14 escort.

 

So, I'm offering:

Multiplayer

2*Fa-18 (for example)

Random (or Anti-ship strike)

2*F-14 (for example)

 

and it works.

I'm also guessing you changed the F16's carry-on because it's not the same as my version.

Feature request:

Mp option in the first mission/skip mission bats to actually go through the entire ATO and choose which flights are player controlled would be awesome!

Hi mates!

 

After I enjoyed DCE so much in the Tomcat and the Viper I wanted to give it a try in the Mirage, while relearning her after some years. In both Mirage DCE Campaigns (Caucasus and PG) I always see the supporting SEAD Flights taking off and land emmediately. Observed this with Hornets taking off from the carrier as well as Vipers operating from an airfield.

 

additional info: I have much more time than I need to start the aircraft, take off and reach the "Join-Waypoint" where I'm supposed to meet escorting aircrafts. In the Tomcat/Viper it wasn't a problem at all to get there early and wait in an orbit. Perhaps now this causes problems?

 

In the Tomcat everything worked just fine. That was in fact before the last OpenBeta Update.

Any ideas?

Hey,

Do you use the "mission planner" before flying? If yes, then you have to stop, because it disturbs the aircraft's "start" trigers.
