Fubarbrickdust
LOL, If he don't point I still seem only a "X-55" throttle there. Ahaa! You'll have to check out the thread I'll throw up regarding the mods I've done to this X-55. During my research into such things I've noticed you're quite active on the 'homebrew' threads - I reckon you'll raise an eyebrow  9700k@5.2Ghz | GTX 1080ti | 32gb Ram@3200Mhz | 512gb M.2 NVME SSD Oculus Rift S | VKB GF Pro Mk.II+MCG Pro (rotary wing) | BRD DS-Raven (fixed wing) | MFG Crosswind V2 | Jetseat+SSA/SSM | SimLab GT1 80/20 Rig | NLR Motion Platform V3 | Quad Bass Shaker Setup DIY Control Panels: 'White Rhino' Throttle | UFC | MFBB Left | MFBB Right | MFBB Centre | WEP-TECH ACP | HYD-MECH LDG | SYS-ELEC | AN/ARC Radio
Brewnix
Heya Brewnix, Eagle eyed spot there. Your quite right, the handles are extended (50mm using alu box tube). In answer to your question, it greatly increases the available precision - the extension in height naturally increases the size of the arc and length of travel for the handles. That particular mod has two benefits - the buttons/switches directly beneath the right throttle are now a lot more accessible in use...one of a number of things that always niggled me with the X-55. As for the other question - Yes, I can certainly up some images and give some details on the mods, although, they are quite extensive and many of which aren't immediately obvious from the photo. It probably warrants a little thread of its own (not to derail this one) so I'll do just that on Monday when I'm at home. I'll fire a link up here when it's done. Nice.. I would be interested in how you attached the tubing to the base and the handles. I have a modded X55 too! I was hoping the precision in the throttle was one of gained attributes. Personally I thought I was all done with my Franken throttle now I got another project to do. So a few pics if you have time would be cool. Either way would be awesome Thanks! Chic
I gotta wait till next production cycle for the BRD-N cyclic before I can put order in. Looks like it's well worth the wait. Sokol1_br
I believe that Baur are not working in collective, but in their forum (avia-sim.ru) you can talk with U053 that make (per order) a interesting collective with multiple disk brake instead friction. http://avia-sim.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=630&start=1080#p29109 http://avia-sim.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=630&start=1020#p28535 Brakes based on this (Mi-8 ?): http://avia-sim.ru/forum/download/file.php?id=4143 http://avia-sim.ru/forum/download/file.php?id=4141 Although Ka-50 "lookalike", can have throttle on twist grip for "old school" helis. http://avia-sim.ru/forum/download/file.php?id=6583 Edited March 13, 2017 by Sokol1_br

Fubarbrickdust
Hi, Awesome job on the throttle. I am curious about throttle handles. Am I correct there are extension on the handles? And the action how does it compare to stock height. Do you feel you have better throttle control? Maybe you have PICs as you modded the throttle? Thanks! SACG_Yeti
I've got a BRD-DS with a KG-13 grip. I'm looking for a quality modern stick, but if I could use my BRD base, nothing would be better than that. Any news on if it will be compatible with the Virpil T-50 stick? Sokol1_br
You need this new pole that make BRD base compatible with Warthog/Cougar grips - the upper part there: https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=169682&d=1506252991 Since T50 grip use the same "Warthog connector" with PS2 plug rest check if your actual USB controller is compatible with Shift Register CD4021B. Alternatively, I guest that Debolesis can create a "Warthog connector" adapter for your BRD to be printed in Shapeways, like he did for several grips. rel4y
Alternatively, I guest that Debolesis can create a "Warthog connector" adapter for your BRD to be printed in Shapeways, like he did for several grips. That is what I am trying to do as well. But I am sadly missing some dimensions.. I need the depth of the "star shaped" cutout on top, or more precisely the distance between the flat top surface and the plastic suface of the mini DIN PS2 connector, where the contacts plug in. If any of you guys could help me out it would be much appreciated, I will upload the result to shapeways anyway. Red Yeti
Look like a Virpil stick? I think I read that there was going to be some collaboration between BRD and Virpil I was hoping that's the VKB handle. The VipRil handle has the same number of keys as the Warthog grip and no analog axes. No need to replace it. :-( Does anyone know if there is a way to use the VKB MCG-Pro grip on the BRD 4,5? Sokol1_br maybe?
hansangb
I thought it had analogs *if* you don't use the WH base. I'm pretty sure I read that in the Virpil thread. So it wasn't a one for one replacement to WH stick. It *can* be, but it doesn't have to be. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1

Sokol1_br
Does anyone know if there is a way to use the VKB MCG-Pro grip on the BRD 4,5? Sokol1_br maybe? Highly improbable, MCG PRO electronics/code is compatible only with VKB bases and "VKB" will don't tell their secrets for the... "bandits". :D VKB MCG grips are individual "entities" with internal microcontroller circuit that manage buttons/HAT and AXES through proprietary code/connectors, other joysticks grip circuits (diode matrix, shift register) manage only buttons/HAT (that are just buttons grouped). I guess that for Baur & VirPil partnership will be easy make T50 grip analog brake work in BRD bases, as well their could implement an mini-stick in this grip in future versions. That's a pity. :-( I hope VirPil will add more features to their grip. The controller from Baur has some unused inputs for additional axes. That shouldn't become a bottleneck. :-) Thank you Sokol1_br
Baur
Yes, it's a T-50 stick. What is the VKB MCG-Pro stick? How many people bought it? There are customer reviews?
