Flight manuals and NATOPs

Hi, guys! I am not 100% sure, I have the F-14 and F-18 NATOPs on my kindle, what flight manuals and NATOPs is legal and illegal? I thought I’d better ask because I wanted to make sure I did not have any flight manuals and NATOPs that is illegal. Thanks!

You're asking a question that can only be responsibly answered by a highly-specialised lawyer . If you wish to serttle for an irresponsible (and considerably cheaper) answer , as long as you don't have anything marked "classified" , and so long as you do not make any effort to transfer documents to another party , and particularly to one outside the US , you should be ok .

Hi, guys! Here is the list of flight manuals I have.

 

F-5E/F flight manual which says published under authority of the secretary of the Air Force on the lower part of the F-5E/F flight manual.

 

Apollo AS503/CSM 103 final flight plan November 22,1968.

 

SEDR 109 project mercury NASA capsule flight operations manual capsule 13 (Atlas).

 

Supplement unclassified NASA project Gemini familiarization manual rendezvous and docking configurations.

 

NATOPs flight manual F/A-18A/B/C/D 161353 and up aircraft.

 

What manual should I delete if any? Thanks!

The Natops manuals are publicly accessible. I downloaded all of mine on the net without any questions or restrictions.

 

Well not wanting to take chances, I have deleted the ones on my phones.

AFAIK, non of them are legal, unless you are Government employee or contractor that requires those manuals.

For more information you can see

Air Force Instruction 61-204

DOD instruction 3200.14, 5230.24, 5230.25, and 5200.39

I am sure there are more regulation I am unaware of.

NATOPS statements

DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT C — Distribution authorized to U.S. Government agencies only and their contractors to protect publications required for official use or for administrative or operational purposes only (15 September 2015). Other requests for this document shall be referred to Commander, Naval Air Systems Command.

 

USAF Tech Data statements

DISTRIBUTION STATEMENT - E - Distribution authorized to DoD Components only (Direct Military Support) (10 February 2019). Other requests for this document shall be referred to X-XX System Program Office.

 

WARNING - This document contains technical data whose export is restricted by the Arms Export Control Act (Title 22, U.S.C., Sec 2751, et seq.) or the Export Administration Act of 1979 (Title 50, U.S.C., App. 2401 et seq.), as amended. Violations of these export laws are subject to severe criminal penalties. Disseminate in accordance with provisions of DoD Directive 5230.25.

There’s a saying in the concealed-carry community...”Concealed means concealed.” This means if you have something that may or may not be legal, don’t advertise it.

 

LEOs and the gov’t do not have crystal balls and unless you tell someone—ANYONE—that you have something or are doing something, there is no chance of a SWAT team or DHS/KGB team coming to you.

Guys, question for you, how did you fly the DCS F-14 without a manual, and what kind of flight manuals and NATOPs do you have? I wanted to make sure I did not commit any crime over this! Thanks!

The Heatblur manual in it's current state does not really tell you how to fly the Tomcat and only minimally how to operate it. The forums, youtube videos, and NATOPS are needed to really be able to learn how to fly it properly and effectively.

does ED or a 3rd party developer fall under " government agencies and thier contractors" ?

 

or "DoD component only" when it comes to Statement E? I would'nt think so

 

Exempting maybe A10C or Ka50 ( being contracted to create a simulation for a branch of the armed forces) all other modules origins are consumer based.

 

 

However such documentation is necessary for making accurate full fidelity level simulations. So there must be a loophole in being legally being able to obtain them even if a developer is based outside the US, otherwise risk facing legal action?
