backspace340
That's not a bug, you are way off the gimbal limits of the radar IMHO Eh? You can see where the vertical line is (showing the target's position) on the Attack Radar page, the first turn puts the target at just over 30 degrees from center - the gimbal limits are 70 degrees. If you look closely you can even see the HUD display '36' showing the number of degrees away the target was when it dropped the lock... backspace340
But you rolled 90° so the gimbal limit that applied there was the vertical one, not the horizontal. This is my humble opinion, maybe im wrong. That doesn't make sense, a roll doesn't exceed the gimbal limit - even if you did a barrel roll pointing at the target you shouldn't lose lock (and you won't in any other module). Whether it was horizontal or vertical, it still lost track at 36 degrees, which is within the limits.
Beamscanner
I will say this again.. Rolling past the 'roll gimbal' should NOT stop the radar from working. The radar antenna only rolls to keep the guard antenna pointed toward the earth for sidelobe suppression. The radar antenna doesnt roll at all in ACM modes and works just fine (as it should). Rolling a flash light doesnt stop it from illuminating an object, nor does it prevent your eyes from seeing the reflection. You should be able to fully roll 100 times over without losing track. Only letting the target exceed the azimuth and elevation limits would allow for a break lock (because the antenna can nor longer point in the targets direction). backspace340
Radar losing track of target when rolling Tested in 2.5.3.21016. Steps to reproduce: Lock a target Turn 30 degrees away from the target (it seems to be possible to cause this from anywhere more than 15 degrees away, if you're facing right at them you can barrel roll as fast as you like and you won't lose lock). Perform a roll to 45 degrees - if you go very very slowly then this won't appear, but even a relatively gentle roll will cause the issue as you can see on the track. Expect: Radar to maintain lock Observe: It loses the lock (though sometimes it does reacquire again it afterwards) Track attached. I'dve added this to the other thread but it's been locked.radarlossAug30.trk
