They have shared a few new screenshots about a week or two ago and stated it is somewhere down the line, for the time when the merge of versions will eventually happen and sim will be updated to 2.5 version.

Progress will be mentioned in the newsletter, are you subscribed to it? They have made huge progress but the merge still takes time.

Cool! Added map area to the southern portion. Hopefully that includes added habitations as that area holds a lot more then is seen on the current map. And, just maybe, the rail tunnel will be a rail tunnel instead of the long cut through the mountain ridge as currently portrayed.

- Crimea cant be back because politics.

 

- New graphics engine and optimizations will nullify performance penalty of much greater detail.

 

- New forest tech being used that is FPS friendly.

I expect the same shadows as Nevada or Normandy has, because its going to be the same terrain engine version.

 

I´ve read no so long ago that dynamic shadows following sun position will melt any computer.
