GAMETRIX KW-908 JETSEAT

Recommended Posts

I'm using a Jetseat and a bass shaker at the same time. It's really cool! However, you will need a separate sound card for SSA and the SoundModule plugin from Andre. I'm using an ultra cheap USB sound card for $5. It's sufficient to send the sound signals to your bass shaker amp.

@f4l0 - Thanks for creating this piece of software for this kit with Andre, I'm super excited to put this all together when I get this one delivered!

I'm keen to purchase one of these, but is it still a 3 month wait before producing from the time of order? Add in postage to Australia, and that's looking like a 4 month wait.

Hi All

I received my Jetseat today and after trying it out for the past 2-3 hours, I have some thoughts/questions.

1. Is anyone else experiencing what only can be described as itching after about 15-20 mins of use around where the motors are located? I’m pretty sure it’s down to the motors getting hot but it’s a somewhat uncomfortable sensation.

2. I’ve spent my time with the Jetset pretty much solely with the f-18 and have started to notice that instead of the constant ‘hum’ of the engine, I’m feeling what only can be described as a pulsing effect which is rather annoying.

3. Is there anyway to adjust the motor curves? I’m finding it difficult to notice the onset of increased G/AoA though the seat as the motors seem to be only on/off with a very small curve.

Anyone else experiencing the same things like I am above?

Thanks!

Did you try modifyng default settings of SimShaker for Aviators? I find tuning down engine effect to 20-30% is better to feel other effects, otherwise the constant humming interferes.

For G-Load, I think you can set a threshold.

Front left motor stopped working.

EDIT:-

I managed to track the problem.

A wire on the bottom left connector (looking from the back) on the circuit board (in the middle of the seat) has come away.

I managed to do a very rudeamentary repair using glue but I don't know how long it will hold for!

How can I repair this properly?

What is the connector called so I can buy one?

Does it come factory made? Will I have to put a new one in and solder the end to the motor?

Those are standard connectors, used in various project. Do you have a maker space or repair cafe near by? Usually the folks there are quite helpful...

Hi F4lo,

I dont seem to have any of those clubs near me but thanks anyway.

Can I buy those connectors on the internet?

Do you know what they are called?

Do they come separate as wire and connector?

If I know what I'm looking for I could probably repair it myself.

In the mean time the glue seems to be holding :)

Many thanks for your help.

is this what I'm looking for:-

I love my Jetseat from Andre - it makes sims really come alive. For helos it is simply amazing. And Andre's service is excellent.

I've mounted my Jetseat motors inside the seat of my sim rig. It works extremely well and is super comfy this way.

simrig.jpg

apologies for the rubbish photo

However the vibrations are strong enough to be noticeable on the floor below the gaming room, even with carpet and massive old wooden floorboards. I was playing through the Enemy Within 3.0 a few days ago :joystick: and afterwards my wife asked if I was moving a lot of furniture around upstairs. :D

I have tried turning down the vibration strength but it doesn't make a huge difference. The rig sits on little round feet. Can anyone recommend a good vibration insulating material to slip under the feet which could prevent awkward explanations about my vibrating chair?

Cheers

Careful about customs cost

Good afternoon

Finally, today I received the pad, for Andre part have met the delivery date but my pad has been held in customs for 20 days and it has cost me to pay 90 euros more in taxes and fee to be released. Finally a small big disaster and expensive.:cry_2:

Now I am testing it and I think it is magnificent although I would like someone to guide me in relation to the adjustment of suitable percentages for each of the effects. I am using it with the USB mode and the plane is the A 10 C. Thanks for everything and I hope some help about it

I'm sorry for your bad luck with customs ─ I hope you can now enjoy your jetseat! I fly almost exclusively piston aircraft and engine rumble for me is very important. You noticed that you have a default setting for "Generic Jet Engine", but as soon you loaded the A-10 you should see a custom tab exclusively for it.

I need to feel the landing gear and increasing Gs. And approaching stall. I also love to feel the rumble of the (sliding) canopy in WWII aircraft. Thus these are all above 50%. And, of course, ground bumps. But in an A-10 that's probably quite different.

I got mine this week. I wondered if it would be comfortable enough and if it would be powerful enough - I had a couple of buttkickers I was using before and to get them powerful enough the amp would often cut out with a stall or gun fire etc. which was getting annoying.

I am glad to say it is more thickly padded than I expected and very comfortable and plenty powerful enough. I also bought simshaker wheels and it is great with iRacing and DiRT Rally 2.0!

Very impressed so far!

Hey guys. Whats the difference between this one: https://andres.shop/jetseat/11-jetseat-kw-908.html

and this one: https://andres.shop/12-jetseat

First one sure looks more fancypancy.

My system:

Been simming since the Commodore 64. A few million polygons ago.

First one is the old/original one, not available anymore.

Second one is updated/better version made by Andre.

Ok, cool. Actually looks much more like jet seats.

Aaaaaaaand ORDERED! Probably quite expensive once Norwegian customs are done with rhe order, but what the heck. Probably more than worth it. Will be AWESOME with VR. :pilotfly:

You always feel the effet without the dead zone. Disable the engine rumble to feel it.

Applying deadzone allows to define at which G force you’ll start to feel the effect.

For example by setting the positive range to 2 and negative to -1 means that the seat will shake only when G force > 2 or < -1.

Amazing settings ! I tend to disable the engine rumble effect or at least to drastically reduce its strenght (<= 10) except for the warbirds because the engine tends to hide all other effects, effects giving useful information

Don’t have enough time to dig deeper enough to provide you valuable advices.

I enabled the experimental engine rumble checkbox and if my memory is right, the default was not bad at all when I tested the P51. But it is with the default settings and the I-16 that I really feel the potential of the jetseat.

As soon as I have something I like, I’ll share it in the post I created for that. I hope some other people will join

They look to be standard micro Molex connectors. Any good hobby shop specialising in RC planes should have them. Look up Hobbyking. Be aware however that using the hobbyking site can be a somewhat trying experience. I think it is designed by a ten year old.
