The problem with the GAU-8 isn't power, it's that the dispersion appears to be too high. 1 Intel 9600K@4.9GHz, Asus Z390, 32GB DDR4, EVGA RTX 3070, Custom Water Cooling, 970 EVO 1TB NVMe 34" UltraWide 3440x1440 Curved Monitor, 21" Touch Screen MFD monitor, TIR5 My Pit Build, VKB Gunfighter Pro w/WH Grip, TMWH Throttle, MFG Crosswinds W/Combat Pedals, Cougar MFDs, Custom A-10C panels, Custom Helo Collective, SimShaker with Transducer

If you were to shoot something at point blank range with the GAU-8, do you have any proof whatsoever that it'll take more rounds than the Huey's Miniguns? Like Deezle said, these aren't MBTs. Beagle One
Yes, that is not MBT's but they are still armored. Im not sure that 7,62 calliber rounds would do that in real life...i have seen military exercies, and there 7,62 rounds fired by AK-47 and PK (Pyulemot Kalashnikov) cant penetrate even MTLB and BTR's armor... The point is that 7,62 calliber is has too smal and weak round to penetrate armor vehicles. 12,7 can do that, but this is very hard for 7,62 rounds. 7,62x39 is usually not what is meant when reffered to 7,62mm 7,62x51 is the Standard and that round has basically the double muzzle energy. 7.62mm, Armor Piercing, M993 has a armour penetration of 7mm against high hardness armor (HHA) It would be possible to penetrate most parts of a BRDM with such ammunition.
