LANTRIN Controls

Hey guys, just a QQ..

For those using a Warthog stick. What binds are you using for the LANTRIN?

I’ve been looking at this all morning, I’m thinking of using the DMS, TMS and Trim Hat, as I don’t think they really conflict with anything that I can’t just press a button for on the HCU

The one that is getting me is the trigger.. you need a 2stage trigger for the HCU and lantrin, how have you guys got around the problem?

Thanks for any help

It absolutely does yes. But it’s required by 2 different control sticks, the HCU for Radar locking and the Lantrin laser

DOH...

You are absolutely correct. I’ve been huffing too much exhaust today...

I think even if not using target, defining a modifier or switch in DCS controls should work just like in the other airplanes. You could use paddle or pinky button for the modifier. If you don't want to hold the modifier simultaneously with the trigger, define a switch instead of a modifier.

Thanks for the tip, I’ve been looking in to this and think I have a great lan, so if I set a modifier, say the right flow override switch on the warthog, when that switch is on then the modifier is active, and the controls for the WH stick would work for the LANTRIN, when I turn that switch off it would go back to the HCU, Would that work as a modifier?

Or with the switch condition could hit something like L/G silence to switch between the two?

That's exactly what I do: I use my paddle as a modifier to use the trigger for the LANTIRN-Stick as well as for the HCU.

In the Modifiers window there are two columns.

The one on the left are "modifiers", which are "press and hold to get alternate function".

The one on the right are "switches", which are "press once to enable alternate function, press again to go back to original function".

I have enough buttons on both stick and throttle, so for the HCU i use the trigger as "half-detent" and the ordnance release button as "full detent". Will probably do something similar on the throttle quadrant to emulate the LANTIRN stick.

Setup a modifyable for the use, for instance use one of the switches on the Throttle base as a modifyer to use the warthog stick. (Note I saw Jabebrs do that so not my idea originally)

I’m thinking I’ll let the L/G Horn switch as a ‘switch’ condition, then double up on the commands.

Thanks

Have a similar thought as you to solve the issue.

Never used a switch as a modifier before, so hopefully she will work fine.

Got this working perfectly, have the flow override switch on the WH as a modifier, then all the controls on the stick bound with the modifier, when the switch is up I use the LANTRIN control, when it’s down it’s HCU.

Thanks for the advice

I'm having an issue with this where after a while of LANTIRN use, the control seems not to go "unmodified"again, so the HCU won't work. Anyone else seeing this?
