ac5
Since last update 2.5.4 Stable version the A-10C has a loud annoying rumbling noise, even at idle throttle, wich was not present in 2.5.3 stable. ? Hawg57
I will take a look. I haven't noticed anything like that in 2.5.4, but I may have over looked it. I will get back with you.
eaglecash867
Yup. The rumbling noise in the background starts as soon as you start your engines. Not sure what it would be, but it isn't present in 2.5.3. ac5
Yup. The rumbling noise in the background starts as soon as you start your engines. Not sure what it would be, but it isn't present in 2.5.3. I have found the rumbling noises, (see screenshot), and edited the .wav to volume =0. But this is only a partial solution, also the whining noise from the turbines gets quieter with increasing speed, wich makes no sense whatsoever, also treated somewhere in this forum. Only the gun sound is now nicer, other sounds have been messed up in this release 2.5.4 stable. Why? Hamilton
Let's indeed hope it will get fixed in the next update... The A-10 needs an overhaul of the lightning, cockpit etc, and not a messed up sound... Exactly!!! That's what we posted on the topic 'Give some love to the A-10' Because every update is spoiling things in A-10C that were working well in years. Just read the topics here daily and confirm. _________________________________ Aorus Z390 Extreme MB | i9 9900k CPU @ 5.0 GHz | EVGA RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra | 32 GB G Skill Trident Z 3600 MHz CL14 DDR4 Ram | Corsair H150i Pro Cooler | Corsair TX 850M PS | Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB |TMWH Hotas with VPC WarBRD Base| Corsair Gamer 570x Crystal Case | HP Reverb

ac5
Updated today the release version. The A-10 sound is still very bad. The whining of the turbines gets quieter the faster you go, and then there is that rumbling noise. The sound of the A-10 has been good for literally YEARS now. ED why are you making it much worse now? eaglecash867
So you think that it is good that the whining of the turbines gets quieter the faster you go.... Have you tried the Deadlyfishes sound mod for DCS? I have it, and it works with 2.5.4. I definitely agree with you that the sounds have been hosed since 2.5.4 came out. The Deadlfishes mod is pretty awesome, so give that a shot. chardly38
ac5 think of it this way. I believe that the sounds now in the cockpit is closer to what is herd from the pilots point of view and here's why. 1.The pilot is wearing a head set so the humming is from the electronics and the engines creating that noise. I believe the aircrafts ground is the plane air frame its self. I my self experience the same humming when charging my mp3 player in my truck. Vehicles with rubber tires dont have the same ground as your house. 2. The faster you go the louder the air will be. Notice how loud it is when you fly on an airliner. Wind at 200+ gets loud and will drowned out the engines. But listen for yourself. eaglecash867
Disregard my previous post as a fix for the annoying 2.5.4 sounds. I just tried the sound mod with the latest 2.5.4 Beta, and the cool sounds of the mod are there, but now they're just overlayed on top of the annoying rumble. Also, the engine noise still gets quieter with speed. I just landed from a mission, and the engine whine doesn't come back to full volume until you get to around 60 knots. I can understand engine noise getting fainter and fainter as you approach mach, but, 60 knots? By that logic, the engine noise in my car should get almost imperceptible when I'm traveling at highway speed. Yup. 2.5.4 sound is definitely borked. EVGA Z690 Classified, Intel i9 12900KS Alder Lake processor, MSI MAG Core Liquid 360R V2 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler, G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series 64GB DDR5 6400 memory, EVGA RTX3090 FTW3 Ultra 24GB video card, Samsung 980PRO 1TB M2.2280 SSD for Windows 10 64-bit OS, Samsung 980PRO 2TB M2.2280 SSD for program files, LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray burner. You explained it perfectly there! 2.5.4 A-10 C sound is definitely borked. It was perfectly ok before. The two files responsible for the annoying, far too loud rumble are these: A10InHeAmbL.wav A10InHeAmbR.wav Found in \Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\Engines. I just reduced the volume of these with a wave editor. And thanks for your previos suggestion, but Deadlyfishes sound mod for DCS concerns a lot of other DCS sounds wich are ok in my opinion. But trough that, I found the turbine sounds of the A-10, wich are EngineTF34GE100Core.wav etc, so I am modifying them myself. But still, I dont understand why ED changed for the much worse the A-10 Sound wich was perfectly OK. I just reduced the volume of these with a wave editor. I have also modified the turbine sounds of the A-10, wich are EngineTF34GE100Core.wav etc, but to no avail, the problem of that turbine sound INEXPLICABLY getting quieter with more throttle / speed remains, must be a sdef config file wich I am not able to edit. Agai, the sound of the A-10 has been good for literally YEARS now. ED why are you making it much worse now? No mention of this in the last changelog of the release version. In fact, it seems that the glorious a_10 has been abandoned completely.Engines.zip Mainboard: ASUS Maximus X Hero Intel Z 370 CPU: Intel Core i7-8086K @ 4.0 GHz Memory: 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4-3000 Graphics Card: ASUS NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB Monitor ASUS PA 329 32" @ 4K 1 SSD Samsung 860 PRO 256 GB 1 SSD Samsung 860 PRO 4 TB Windows 10 - 64 V. 2004 CH Pro combatstick, throttle and pedals
