The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

So there is no way to for example if I would like to create a more advanced livery to open a model and paint directly on the uv to export?

To paint and trace by hand in Photoshop is the only way? A lot of trial and error then.

Thanks for the quick answers.

Yep that's the only way and it can be frustrating which is why most of the aircraft have good templates. I think you can mount liveries through the modelviewer which is quicker than loading them into the game.

I'm also having a "ImGui.dll" missing issue! Re-installed twice, still same issue.

That is Modelviewer 133261.exe

OK found the solution to the ImGUI issue. The exe file is actually in the DCS directory.

is there a way asing (Arg or key ?? )for change view in dcs

for 2 Cockpit

example F1 keybord view cockpit 1 ) F2 next view Cockpit 2 in dcs

You dont need to ask the same question in every section and PM.

There is no Argument assigned to Switching Cockpits, it's Configured in the LUA

also need to add code to input/keyboard/default.lua for your module:

-- Views
{combos = {{key = '1', reformers = {"LShift"}}}, down = iCommandViewCockpitChangeSeat, value_down = 1, name = _('Occupy Seat 1'),	category = _('View Cockpit')},
{combos = {{key = '2', reformers = {"LShift"}}}, down = iCommandViewCockpitChangeSeat, value_down = 2, name = _('Occupy Seat 2'),	category = _('View Cockpit')},

I have this setup w/ my F/A-18F and it's cockpit and I toggle back and forth between front and back.

Hi all!

I have two issues:

1. Is It possible to get an edm plugin working for 3D Max 2018?

2. Issue whe I trying to run Modelviewer.

Can anybody help me? :)

1. Don't expect 2018 support anytime soon. We just got 2016 support several months ago.

2. Just use the Modelviewer that's bundled in DCS. Go to your DCS install folder, bin, and run Modelviewer.exe.

EDM plugin not detected by 3DS Max 2016

Greetings,

I seem to be having difficulty getting the EDM plugin fully installed. I downloaded the latest version and ran the installer, but upon launching 3DS Max, I'm faced with a "failed to initialize" error.

I went to the install location and sure enough, the files are indeed there. After some Googling, I also made sure that I had Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 Update 4. (recommended in this thread)

Here's the error I'm getting, despite the files being present.

Anyone know a fix?

Thanks!

I found out the problem for me. I had to edit the file read/write properties of tbb.dll for my 3DS Max 2016 in order to install. If anyone else is having an issue installing their ED plugin for their 3DS Max, do this!

Must have been an issue your end with permissions. Works fine for me and others

DCS Model Viewer problems

I am having a problem viewing liveries in Model Viewer. I am using DCS World 2.5 stable and I have tried model viewer with the same result just clicking the exe. file, running a batch file etc. The program loads the user interface but the problem is that I have no idea what to load. There are no LOD or EDM files, all I have are the DDS textures and it would be nice to look at my creation without having to load the game and a mission to do it. If somebody can help me with this I would really appreciate it. I am not a programmer, I know how to manipulate the description.lua files but that is about it. Thank you
