sparkchaser2010
So I'm still a bit rusty on getting the colors correct for aircraft liveries as before I would simply use some scale model references and sample the colors from it. Recently I started work on a Standard USAF livery for my skins and started using the official template for the base color. I then discovered a website that would give me the hex code for most federal standard colors. https://encycolorpedia.com/ I decided to use this to plug these into Photoshop for what I hoped would be more accurate colors, but that doesn't seem to be the case. This is the livery using the DCS Default colors. This the livery using the Federal Standard converted into the Hex Code. Seems a little washed out to me, thoughts? lee1hy
It looks purple. I used the FS code before but the color was weird. So How about take color from real picture? I was took a high-res photo from the USAF af.mill and chose a color that is not affected by sunlight. And manually matched it creator of ED's official F-16C liveries (WP,OS, 132nd, 152nd, 174th) AH-64D livery contest winner kim_123456#3214 My user files https://shorturl.at/cdKV5
Emmy
It might be just a degree or two purple, but more importantly, the ED version looks as if it’s got just a little more contrast in play and the panel lines all look just a bit darker. By comparison, yours looks a little flat overall. sparkchaser2010
It turns out the codes given by that site don't match up well with FS numbers. I've got some good photos so that sounds like a more fool proof way to get the color match I'm looking for. Thanks for the input!
