We need how to post youtube videos in the FAQ

I agree, how ever here is how its done for anyone who wishes to know. In the address bar of the youtube video you wish to link at the very end will be an equal sign so like for this f18 comp video the link is

you would then copy everything after the equal sign. in this case OFGhJbM5sXE would be copied. you can either select the youtube link button or you can type in
{youtube]OFGhJbM5sXE{/youtube]
replace the { bracket with [ in the quoted example.

For the WIN

If your desired effect on the target is making the pilot defecate his pants laughing then you can definitely achieve it with a launch like that.

Some nice footage but the 'orchestra' had to spoil the sublime sound for a lil bit it seems.

If you've not watched Jetstream, I highly recommend it. It follows a class of fighter pilots as they learn to fly the CF-18 with 410 Squadron in Cold Lake.

Thx, for some reason cant rep,

Will most certainly watch that.

Just from my limited exposure/and knowledge from following this thread and the DCS F18C, the substantial fuel load difference alone is a huge +, despite all or any other improvements.

Some great footage and a bit of inspiration too.....

Just posting some stuff that has seriously upped the hype for the Hornet (as if it wasn't already)

For some reason embedding this isn't working. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOHYVUZUpYA

This is one of the most recent videos I've seen of F/A-18C's operating from a carrier, lots of good traps, refuelling and strikes.

Hornets Over Kuwait by Jay A. Stout

Currently reading this, seems pretty good so far, will update when I'm done.

Bogeys and Bandits: The Making of a Fighter Pilot by Robert Gandt

Quite enjoyed this one although its more about the pilots and their backgrounds which I found less interesting than a war diary type of book but still worth checking out.

Amazon Link

Haven't found too many books by Hornet pilots, anyone got any others to recommend?

I read the first one: hornets over kuwait. That for sharing. Letting us know it was free.

Though as a disclaimer the usmc pilot is flying an f18a not a c. ( is mentioned at one point in the book)

Build:

Windows 10 64 bit Pro

Case/Tower: Corsair Graphite 760tm ,Asus Strix Z790 Motherboard, Intel Core i7 12700k ,Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 64gb ram (3600 mhz) , (Asus strix oc edition) Nvidia RTX 3080 12gb , Evga g2 850 watt psu, Hardrives ; Samsung 970 EVo, , Samsung evo 860 pro 1 TB SSD, Samsung evo 850 pro 1TB SSD,  WD 1TB HDD

  • 2 weeks later...

Nice little insight into the F/A-18 gene pool.

- Test Pilot, Bob Ettinger, talks about his time with the Light Weight Fighter, Joint Test Force, flying the Northrop YF-17 and General Dynamics YF-16

- Jack of many DCS modules, master of none.

- Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS.

| Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |
