Not exactly an cockpit, but I get this question often, so I thought best to make a little post that lays out my system. I use two in fact (always good to have a back up). This is also handy for in-office demos and when one systems is tied up with rendering.

Primary:

i9 9900K OC'd to 5.1, 2080Ti, 32 3200 Mhz RAM, and 3 TB of SSD space. Thurstmaster Hornet stick on a VPC WarBRD base and a Thrustmaster Warthog throttle.

Secondary:

i7 6700K, 1080Ti, 32 2800 MHz RAM, 512 SSD space. Thustmaster Cougar HOTAS.

Yes, they are both beasts and set up for Oculus Rift with Touch.

I also use an assortment of sticks and throttles from Thrustmaster, VKB, and Virpil.

Monstertech as kind enough to send me desk mounts. Great stuff!

Mr Wags,

Thanks for sharing. Since you fly VR, I would like do send you a VR cursor control device, called PointCTRL, for your evaluation. It doesn't require any DCS code to implement, and is seen as an HID mouse and Keyboard. I have been developing PointCTRL with this community's input, specifically using DCS. I am still a few weeks away from shipping out some production prototypes to DCS centers of influence, so just let me know if you would like one.

Thanks for the post Wags, can you tell us anything about the Hornet stick like how many buttons, how much further forward does it sit that the Warthog stick?

Sorry, but Thrustmaster should field those questions.

Nice insight and setup, thank you for sharing.

This also explains why your tutorial videos are always sharp and smooth.

I can suggest though that you also keep a mid-tier PC ( i.e. a 6700k with 1070 or 1060 ) to feel what's DCS like for most DCS fans and customers.

As the producer, it's an experience that you should live in first person and not through reports.

It's my humble opinion, if this is out of contest please delete this reply.

We have plenty of other systems in our development studio and testers for that. Limited room here.

Awesomeness

What about the monitors and resolution? (both in-game and for the Windows desktop: I am looking at going 4K for my Windows desktop, which seems to be the resolution on your primary system, and hesitating going to 32" or 40")
