Any chance to mod manually, or hack, about some culling parameters like ED did with carrier crew (not rendered now in only one eye)???

Since it’s ED’s feature I hope it undergoes fixing soon. Definitely doesn’t seem like a finished feature but still anything’s worth improved performance.

Do i have to reapply it after todays patch

yes you do , the MOD applies to the DCS core directory; every patch may overwrite anything there, so best practice is to install using OVgme/jgsme/modmanfx and reinstall EVERY TIME...

i read previously that the fxo folders etc do not have to be deleted anymore.

is this true? and if so, why? does the updater do this automatically now?

time is never wasted when you're wasted all the time...

Yes, that's correct, a version of 2.5.6, I forget which, started correcting the issue that used to cause us to delete Fxo and metashaders2

Has anyone figured out how to optimize these shaders for the Tomcat+Supercarrier? I have everything pretty low/medium/off, and the Tomcat gets mid-high 30s while the Hornet gets low-mid 40's on the Supercarrier in the same missions with the same settings. I've tried changing just about every setting and nothing seems to matter for the Tomcat.

Just wanted to say a massive Thank you to Speed Of Heat and the other members who contributed to this thread.

I'd given up a bit on DCS as could never get it quite right in VR, cockpit instruments were difficult to read and perf was so so. Despite running pretty much the best hardware possible.

Fast forward 6 months and WOW! The optimisations in this thread especially the sharpening method in the cockpit, in the new shaders mod.

And its literally a different game, I have a crystal clear cockpit, much higher settings & pretty much double the frame rates. Mind blown

It’s what the community is meant to do, help others. I’m very glad Kegetys mod and the advice has worked for you.

This mod no longer works for me on the latest beta, after recompiling no air or ground vehicles are rendered, and cockpits are gone. I did try to delete the shader cache just in case, no change.

Same for me

so not sure what you have done; but it is working just fine for me ... try a repair and a reinstall of the MoD you have to do that after each update ...

Had this too. Just quit the mission and restart the mission, no more problem (for me at least). No need to quit DCS.

It does work.

What have you done already to correct it? Are you using motion smoothing /vectoring?

If you look at your frame times for cpu and gpu... That might help.

I am using the Reverb with motionvector reprojection. I basically use your VR settings plus high terrain textures and no shadows. I have been considering trying 70% render resolution or something. Frametimes are high on the GPU while CPU seems to keep up okay. I could try low terrain textures but according to some of the settings comparisons people have posted it doesn't make that much of a difference. I'm also playing on Syria a lot lately, so that never helps getting good performance.

I have been fooling around with lower frame rate projections as well.

But you have the same cpu and a better gpu, if you are running my settings then something else is amiss, have you followed the nvidia settings too?

There has been so much conflicting information about nVidia settings, the only ones I am using are prefer maximum performance and 4 pre-rendered frames (I figured the more pre rendered the less stuttering, and I could not care less about input lag if it’s smooth, not sure if this is really true)

What mask size are you using with the reverb if you don’t mind sharing?
