On the hornet over PG, after the new open beta the way points are 4400 miles away. Also the wing man taxies to the middle of the deck and stops there.

I will do more testing tomorrow but I think the new update broke DCE for me. Already tried starting a new campaing using firstmission.bat

sad... I just got this working again yesterday :-(

I feel your pain, I just got it working too, and yesterday was my first chance to have a proper go at it, ho hum. But I’ve just read on the f18 bugs (bug bugs?) forum that INS isn’t working on missions where the date is pre 2000. Is this somthing we can change in the mission editor after the mission is created?

Also after exiting the mission yesterday (still on the carrier deck) it didn’t generate a debrief I just got an error msg, anyone else had this?

For the date issue I think the solution can be to edit the base_mission. miz in the init folder to change the date after 2000 ;)

For the debrief bug did you change the missionscripting file again with the 2 lines with - - because after the update you have to make it again ( use JSGME or OvGM it’s simpler)

For the wingman bug on the deck we are looking for a solution ... did someone tried to ask for taxiing after engine start ? I didn’t have time to test this now :(

I didn’t change the missionscripting file, I’m new to this, is that what you need to to after a dcs update? Could you possibly point me in the direction of a post with instructions please?

Thanks for the reply :)

Oh and while I’m asking noob questions, I’m yet to complete the first mission (crashed into the back of the carrier haha) but there is way more targets than me an my wingman can destroy. Do I need to take them all out in the first mission (ie land and rearm) or will the next mission let me go back and finish the job?

Feel free to ignore as I know I’ll find out eventually but I can’t get to my computer for a while :(

Look in the readme to find how to install DCE campaigns properly. All is inside ;)

You don’t have to ( and often can’t ) destroy all your targets in one mission. DCE missions are like real ones : you try to do your best but the main goal is to survive. If the target is not destroy on the first mission, you or other flights will have to try again on next missions or later. There are lot of targets and if a target is too difficult to destroy on one mission wait for better conditions : SAM sites destroyed, better escort ...

In DCE there no conditions to win or loose a mission. Come back home and you will win this mission ;)

After destroying a certain amount of targets after many missions you may win the campaign if your losses are not too high :)

I think I'm wrong to change the campaign date sorry :( Instead change the year in the camp_init.lua in the Init folder (need to restart the campaign with Firstmission.bat file) or change the date in the camp_status.lua file in the Status folder if you don't want to restart your campaign (only use SkipMission.Bat file)...

After some tests I have some good news

For INS issue : changing the year to 2003 for example as described just above solves the INS bug !

For the wingman taxi bug you must edit the base_mission and remove the men on the front left side and around front catapults. If you are not sure erase everything in the front part of the CVN. You will need to use Skipmission.bat (or Firstmission.bat if you want to restart the campaign) to generate a new mission with the new template.

Thanks man and thank you for this campaign. You make DCS fun for me beyond the learning the new plane phase. If it’s not for this campaign. I would probably stop playing DCS.

It worked like a charm. So I tried my first strike mission with JDAMs as part of my loadout(could not make it to target cause had to take of family). I did noticed that I have two "TOO" targets already inputted. Are these the actual targets?? If it is... man this is absolutely very cool.

Pb0 we need to fix up the tankers on the PG map. Having S3B tanker so far from Cap area is making it useless. You will waste 2k gas to get there, S3 has 3-5k gas in itself. And then waste 2k on goin back into AO. Waste of time. Replace it with 135 MPRS, and if you want S3B tanker anywhere put it somewhere over AL Dhaid in the middle.

It’s always difficult to define Tankers track points : it needs to be secured but not too far from useful areas !

With DCE it’ Not possible to know which kind of Tanker will use which tanker track : I defined Tankers tracks coordinates and Tankers squadrons. DCE choses randomly which squadron will use one tanker track. The best will be to redefine Tankers tracks point and may be not use S-3 Tankers. If you want you can give me coordinates you think are good ( x and y is better with alt+ y on editor) and I will see what I can do ;)

Hornet over Persian Gulf.

Anyone playing this? Seems my wingman refuse to takeoff from Stennis, he starts to taxi then just parks it in the middle of the boat, am i missing something?

Guess an easy fix would be takeoff from runway if someone could talk me trough what files to edit to get that..

I get this bug. I can click it away, I can play next Mission and destroyed Ground Targets are saved, shot down A/C not so much… it happens when the CMD window after a Mission should open.

happens in all campaigns, fresh install, 11.05 script Version (did it via the zip file and copy&past)

any suggestions?

Here is the solution

Tried that (deleting stuff in the front of the carrier) so to have my wingman take off but nothing changed. Will try again by removing everything and see what happens. I am talking about Tomcat over Caucasus.

Any fixes for tomcats starting with wings extended, and or wingman floating off the cat?

This issue and the wingman getting stuck appears to be a DCS bug that came with 2.5.5.

Takeoff in under 7 min?

Seems no matter what i set startup_time_player = i get 7 min, dont need that much in SP, anyone else?

And, swapping out the Stennis called CVN-70 Carl Vinson with the model of the Vinson, will that screw everything up?
