Cibit
Don't buy the Strix H model. Its very badly supplied with I/O both mid board and rear I/O and suffers from a coil whine :) i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
Jacks
Cib, I have decided to go with the ASRock Extreme4 as it has pretty everything I need, the only thing the Fatal1ty K6 has over it is the ability to overclock an external base clock. System Specs: i7 8700k @ 5.0GHz (not delidded), ASRock Extreme4 Z370 MOBO, EVGA GTX 1080 SC 8GB, 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, Samsung Evo 240GB SSD, Samsung Evo 500GB SSD, 1TB HDD, Noctura NH-D15S Heat Sink, Acer VE278H 27" 1080p Monitor, Ocukus Rift CV1. Controllers: TrackIR 5, Thrustmaster HOTAS X, Saitek Throttle Quadrant (with DIY removable collective mod), Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals. Just trying to keep my number of takeoffs and landings equal!

Cibit
Wow Cibit ... 5.2GHz... pretty intense... what's your CPU temperatures? Its idling here at 23C and tops out around 71C. Highest its been is 81C and for this I blame the old arctic silver I was forced to use as I had run out of Kryonaught which dropped top temps to around the 65C mark @100% load. I need a new tube i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB

My delidder should arrive any day now ;) took long enough I should charge ASUS for a new tube. It was seating the cpu twice on the borked board checking for bent pins when the DIMMS would not boot. Grrrr still cheap enough but its a pain to strip the build down just to reapply the TIM i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB
BitMaster
yes it is, with the risc to bend pins, happens damn quick. I really dont wanna pull mine apart to delid it, wish I had done it back "then" when I put it all together. My 980GTX just came back from Asus RMA ( with dealer in between ). 6 weeks total door-2-door. Havent tried her yet, looks like a brand new card, or refurbished, defo not the card I'd sent in. dburne
Well I bought a 8700k so I guess I will find out for myself! You will. 8700k and DDR4 ram is about good as you can get for VR today. Will be interesting to hear your thoughts once up and running. I am eyeing a new build here soon myself.
