HI,

I start engine on left tank as per manual take off and fly for a while and if i change to anything other than right tank it runs for a couple of seconds then fuel pressure gauge drops and then engine quits.I have done what the manual states by making sure fuel pump switch is on then select whatever tank i want and it should work yes?If i select rear tank or wing tanks the engine say's nope not happening.Am i doing something wrong?Cheers....

If you do not change fuel quantity you have fuel only in left and righ fuel tanks after mission start, it is default setting in mission editor.

So, it is correct if your engine stops when you switch fuel selector valve in to another position except left or right fuel tank.

And bug is here with lack of fuel in external fuel tanks when you take them and empty fuselage tank when you set 100% fuel. Not sure if this bug has been solved so far.

Ok thanks, I looked more into it and they are aware of the issue. The rear tank and drop tanks are empty so that's why the engine quit.No matter what i did or how much fuel i added via mission maker or by refueling at airport via ground crew they are still empty. Also if you use ground crew and add tanks and 100% fuel the ground crew does their thing and you can see left and right tanks go up and then you can hear them still refueling but nothing happens.I sat there for a good ten minutes to see if the rear tank or drop tanks filled but no joy they just keep going and going.

Thanks, this helped! Took a while to figure out what was going on after I decided to fire up the Mustang after some time.

Was this problem recently introduced? Cannot remember I noticed it before.

Will it be fixed?

Best Regards,

Saw that there is no fix yet in today's beta. Is there any idea on when we might expect a fix? I bought the Blue Nose Bastards campaign (before I knew of this problem) and it is no fun flying this with unlimited fuel...

I'm not sure.My P.C Fried about 3 weeks ago and I'm stuck on this Laptop that can barely browse and email so no gaming for me until all the parts arrive.I was looking forward to buying that campaign but I'll think I'll hold off until it's fixed i think.

The bug about no fuel in the drop and rear tanks has been reported many months ago and numerous times since then. ED spends time and manpower developing more half baked modules to sell rather than fixing reported bugs with their "beta" versions that they've already sold us.

When you report a bug, they remind you that "it's a work in progress" but it never gets fixed.

btw why do you need drop tanks ?? in wing tanks you have enough fuel for hours of flight

Because it breaks the immersion when we can't even load the aft tank at all to simulate the full internal load, let alone the added wing tanks, of one of the longest ranged single engine fighters of the war.

Your aircraft has ruptured fuel lines running from the fuselage and drop tanks. They need to be replaced and new ones are on order, but have not arrived yet. Those tanks cannot be used until you get the new lines installed. Meanwhile, the war continues and we have no spare aircraft. You will have plenty of fuel in the wing tanks to get across the channel and back to accomplish your mission. Now, get back up there- your country needs you!

I just like to have 25 gallons in my fuselage tank. Helps me whip the Mustang around :)

Also, I got it in my head today that I wanted to play with reversibility. But unless today's patch fixed it I can't :(

Nope, still no fix to date, the issue still exists.......it has been reported, but the devs have yet to give any clear indication of when it might be fixed, just the standard note from ED stating it's being looked into.......mind you the problem was first reported on 20th December 2018 !

In short having drop tanks on the P-51D at present only has a 'cosmetic' value,as their practical value is,to put it frankly.....porked ! thumbdown.gif

I just want to be able to load the aft tank again to simulate the aft CoG change that the real life pilots had to fight with when they had a full internal load. I wonder if ED actually removed that on purpose because new pilots were crashing on take off with a full load? Surely not....

Started the Blue Nosed campaign today and run into the same issue :(

I thought i was messing up and took me a while to find it's just an unadressed bug. I really hope they put more time to fixes like his one.

Here’s a assumption. It won’t be fixed until new damage model is out along with the other work they are doing on engine cooling and such. That’s my guess as there really is no other good reason for it to still be broken. It makes campaigns and missions not even worth flying at the moment.

Being fair, it’s still quite possible to escort a B17 from England to Normandy and back, even with its restricted fuel load.

All the same, I’m not impressed that I hasn’t been fixed, given how long it’s been reported.

Not to mention central tank does any good to a/c stability and it's forbidden to do aerobatics with it filled according to manual.

My guess either since quite a time. They're busy with too many fronts opened right now.

+1

I am very understanding when ED leaves bugs in for long periods of time or takes "too" long to update pre-release modules. They have such great attention to detail that when they do EVENTUALLY do something they do it right.

But this module has been out for so long and is such a staple that they really should have this fixed. There are a lot of nerds that want to put fuel in the fuselage tank for a lot of reasons. It is strange that after so long you can't (when there is no apparent reason).

The bug was introduced around the time they revealed the new damage model they're working on so I assumed that somehow I'm using a newer version of the module (that has nothing new implemented?) and the fuel system isn't quite worked out yet. That doesn't really make sense, but I'm an excessively understanding fellow. But most people aren't!
