Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you could give me input or advice. I'm getting my acer 27 inch touchscreen tomorrow and am excited to try out Helios for the first time. I've watched some videos and done a bit of reading. Hopefully you guys can tell me if I'm on the right track for steps to take tomorrow.

1. Download Helios and the profile editor

2. Gonna download caploz a10c profile as a base

3. Edit my export config lua or copy and paste Helios lines? I'm assuming I can just replace my current export with one of the export.lua files and then just add my tacview and bios etc entries?

4. Do I need to do anything with my monitor or view config files like I did exporting MFCDs without Helios? And will I need to play around with the monitor and resolution in game as well? Or does the fact I'm using Helios make it totally separate from my main cockpit view?

Anything else I'm missing? Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. I'm so excited to try this yet it seems a bit daunting.

I recommend using one of CaptZeen's Export.lua files. They are designed to support many Helios profiles data exports. Put it in your "C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts" folder. And yes, you can add your Tacview lines at the bottom...

Also, check out his profiles. They are all awesome!!

http://captzeen.com/helios/downloads.asp

BTW. You can download and set all of this up today if you want. Why wait? You don't need a touchscreen, just click with your mouse.

If you have your MonitorSetup mfd exports all setup then you should be set to go. Do you know how to do that? Can you get all of the DCS export Windows working?

But remember to open each profile that you download in the Helios Editor and on the Profile menu select 'Reset Monitors' to setup where Helios will put the profile. (The person who made the profile probably has his monitors laid out differently than you do.)

Cheers!

HELIOS editor multi touch monitor installation problem

Hi everybody,

I am a beginner in Helios, while long time with DCS team. I have problem with installation of my fourth touch screen monitor Prolite T2252MTS - 1920x1080, as a origin tree monitors Benq XL2420T, 1920x108 installed on DCS, and work perfectly. I followed CapLoz, AND DerekM instructions being trying to install profile Loz SM v2.1 for A10C.

My actions:

- Configured 4 monitors in one line in Windows 10;

- Installed Helios editor, and Helios Control center;

- Install a Helios Profile (Loz SM v2.1) into D:\Users\YourName\Documents\Helios\Profiles

- The images copied to the folder: users\YourName\Documents\Helios\Images

- Started Helios Editor, four my monitors uppeared in Preview tab;

- Opened Loz SM V2.1 profile;

- did Reset Monitor

- Started Helios Control Panel, and push START, immediately note appeared "" Can not display this profile basause invalid, Please open editor and select reset monitor"" ,

I did it several times, without RESULT.

Does anybody have experience with 4monitors configuration in Helios ???

Please help with with this issue.

Thank in advance

P.S. Already spent one week without any success {SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS}

I am, its working just fine. Its been a very long time since I installed it and got it working though. Did you find any of the tutorials on Youtube?

Old post, but if anyone else has trouble like KIVI2015, you must set monitor numbers when using the reset monitors. Windows monitor X = Helios monitor X, etc. 1 ,2 3 ,4 does not always equal 1,2,3,4.

Fakum, Helios adds some code to the export file it sets up. It edits the old location of this file, located in the game build folders. Let Helios do that, then manually copy that file into a saved games\dcs\scrpits folder. You may have to create the scripts folder there. From then on, just move this export file to any DCS and it will work with Helios.

Helios is great, but Ikarus out-performs it in many ways.

I do not have any questions, I was responding to SGT Coyle, but since you commented, what is "Ikarus" that you refer to? I never heard of it and Google search indicates its anti virus software???

OK,

I've looked through these forums and youtube videos to adnausium.

I set up my monitors (3 @ 27" 2k 2560x1440) as:

Monitor1- Portrait @ 1440x2560

Monitor 2- Landscape @ 2560x1440

Monitor 3- Potrait @ 1440x2560

Combined res of 5140x2560

1. I've made and installed a Monitorsetup.lua Works for what I understand it's supposed to do.

p.s.

I've tried several different export.lua, profiles. I don't know if it means anything, but my Helios monitor setup doesn't match how my monitors are setup. My monitors are setup 1,2,3 and Helios says 1,3,2

Thanks cichlidfan :}

SGT Coyle, I was under he impression that you simply did not like how the text in the MFCD's were aligning with the OSB buttons. In which case I would have advised you to tinker with resizing of the MFCD exporting size to better align with the Helios OSB's. If you issue is beyond that, i dont think I can help, especially with 3 monitors and what has already been suggested here? its been many years since I changed anything, I am not proficient at all at this time as I once was sorry to say.

not sure it is the "right place" to ask this

Helios (used with Steam A-10) worked perfeclyfor a long time then suddenly, Helios does not stay "on top" and during the game it swap back and on top.

I have the last version,

Helios Monitor Problem

I am very new to Helios. I have installed the Loz profile, and when testing the profile only about 30% of the panel is visible on the bottom right corner. The rest is completely missing. I then built my own panel, and it does the same thing. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Chad

Sorry to say, but I have never seen that before! I have no idea how that can be? I would start from scratch if it were me, but it seems you have already done that? How many monitors do you have? It would probably help if you post up your monitor config file and monitor resolution configuration for starters I suppose. Take a screenshot of your desktop display config as well. Gotta start with some basics.
