[RESOLVED]Popping sound at cold start

Reflected

Recommended Posts

Yes, looks like this should be spluttering sound at closed throttle in flight but something went wrong

I also noticed improved sounds on the ground.

Just finished installing patch, deleted options.lua just in case of issues, did set up all options, loaded Nevada cold start missions for both P-51D and TF-51D, then a quick mission on Caucasus. No custom mods enabled yet.

No backfire popping, everything normal.

Maybe what you guys see (or rather hear) is related to VoiceAttack causing strange problems with 2.5.6, reported elsewhere?

I've heard the same sound issue yesterday online. Was first to spawn, another P-51 spawned right next to me and before any of us started engine, we heard exactly what sMashPiranha linked in his post.

I'll have to try some other mission then, with other P-51s flying or taxying around. Anyone recognizes which mission it is in Piranha's post?

I tried it on MP server, when i look a my plane there is no popping sound but when i look at other player's plane this sound appear or when i am close to another p-51 enough to hear engine sound.

Exactly like Hiromachi said same thing.

Ok here is what I did. All of this is in single player. Did 25 and 30 variants with just me in P-51 and both times no popping. Played a campaign with AI planes next to me heard the popping sound. Closed canopy on ground could not hear popping sound. Open canopy popping sound back and it stopped when all AI took off and away from base. So it is the AI that is doing it.

I did a mission with a Spitfire, landed where some P-51Ds just landed and even with the engines off and the pilots standing outside, the popping sound is still going...I can tell it's the exhaust pops from the Rolls Royce Merlin Engine...sound bite file error for sure!

You're right, TwoLate: as soon as there are AI planes, they constantly pop. Engine on and off.

Not only AI if another player spawn next to you poping sound happening too

Popcorn sounds when aircraft shut down on multiplayer also.

Popcorn sounds when player aircraft leave server; the popping is still there.

AI same issue popcorn sounds.

Tinnitus sounds when hitting 1G at over 350 MPH.

an exhaust leak is an exhaust leak...but is not an exhaust leak when the engine is turned off. Its there, its been there since 2.5.6, they know its there.

It seems to be the AI P-51. Static didn't do it and my own P-51 didn't do it but AI ones do and never stop, regardless of what phase of the flight they're in or if the engine is even going. It's just non-stop popcorn.

Other player's p-51 does that too.It gets crazy when there is a couple players on same airfield.
