Simpit Software from SDA

The functionality of programming keyboard strokes to buttons is 100% needed. I would say to save on development time you don't need to build out each of those into the current pits... but I would say that functionality would enable even more use cases of the software.

I have now tried 3 different methods. Unfortunately without success with DCS. All versions work with Windows applications.

Exciting!

HJP - if I can offer some input.

Also allow IKARUS to map key strokes to buttons; for example LALT+Home to start the engines (or whatever the key combo is). This would allow users to create buttons for FC aircraft like the F-15c. This would offer so much more possibilities than just assuages, but workable UFC controls.

This would allow me to build a custom UFC for the F-15c by using the IKARUS software to creates buttons and mapping them to keystrokes that trigger an event in game.

These keystrokes are not offered in the configuration for the F-15C for the UFC.

I understand that - what I'm saying is if you configured IKARUS to allow for keyboard strokes I could create a button and map it to "i" to turn on the radar. I could put that button onto a newly created f-15c profile in IKARUS that projects onto my touchscreen.

The customization is already in IKARUS. I can create a button for the F-15c profile. The problem is I cannot map it to a keyboard stroke. If you enable the ability to map a button press in IKARUS to pushing the letter "i", for example, you would effectively allow folks to build their own custom profiles for those modules that don't offer full fidelity.

Think about my F-18c profile I created. I custom made buttons/toggles and placed them where I wanted them. The only difference is instead of IKARUS sending the "DCS ID" for the corresponding switch/button I pushed, it's sending a keyboard command.

This would allow additional expansion for some of the other profiles you have created, too. Since most modules have keyboard shortcuts anyway. I'm thinking L-39, etc.

Does that make sense?

Guppy, I get what you want. It fails here still with .net and also other Extensions. I see at present no solution.

I have once again invested time for the FC keys conversion. Without own HID it probably doesn't work under W10. Everybody has to install it. This becomes too complex for me until it works for the user.

Exactly, that will become possible with it.

will become possible as in it's not possible right now?

is there an estimate for this function?

I just solved the problem in principle. Now I just have to make it stable to make it adjustable for you.

It's this indicator circled in red. It shows you your current waypoint/target point among other things.

You'll get that ad too. It will take some time, because we totally rebuild the export script.

  • 1 month later...

Hello. I am new to Ikarus and I am enjoying it. Thank you for making it. I currently use it with F-15c. I would like to report an issue I have found.

- On the exported HSI inside Ikarus, the "MILES" and COURSE" numbers do not match the numbers on the HSI inside the actual F-15 cockpit. This makes no sense as it makes the exported HSI useless. Is this a known bug?

I also have a question - will Ikarus ever be able to display the TEWS and other screens inside the cockpit?

Thank you.

Hello.

"Other" screens are exported from DCS, usually.

Do those numbers match anything else in the cockpit? It would mean the Export ID is mixed up.

There are no screens being exported in the default F15c profile. By 'screens' I mean TEWS, Radar and the Weapons loadout screen.

No they do not match anything else. I have not changed anything that would have edited export IDs that I know of.

Thanks.
