SoH release prior to merger or anything else makes sense logically because it's a revenue stream. Normandy displaced Caucasus. It's also a bedrock for selling, as would be a carriers DLC.

If I was a gambling man based on the info we have seen on both, I would say SoH hits the ground before the Hornet, but I have been wrong plenty of times before, as my wife. ;)

Hope 2.5 comes first, but i wont be hopping anymore.

im still wounded after telling my GF i was anxious about normandy release, because, not like i was buying it, but "a couple of weeks after" the hornet would be available. never again. i swear.

Don't we all? And I'm sure that includes ED. I know from experience how awful it is to administer several code branches simultaneously...

Somehow just have to remain patient. The last purchase I made was the F-5 on release and since then I haven't spent a penny due to the merge not happening. Once the merge is done and things are stable I will jump onboard again. Yes Nevada 2.1 looks gorgeous right now and I am sure the Caucasus map will have a total new lease of life once it is done. And of course Strait of Hormuz map along with the Hornet and not to forget Razbams Harrier, the future looks good. But for me the 2.5 merge is the foundation without which I will not commit any further.

I think it would cause a bit of an uproar if it happened that way. Personally I think if ED releases any other map before the (FREE) Caucassus upgrade it would be detrimental to their status in the sim community.

I honestly don't understand that question, since the "2.5" is supposed to happen whenever the New Caucasus joins the NTTR and Normandy.

i think he's asking if there will be backlash if SoH hits 2.x before the New Caucasus is released.

even then, when new Caucasus is released, it could be on Version 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 Open Alpha.

No one said once Caucasus is done that it would go straight to Release Branch w/ 2.5.

it would still need some time in Open Beta, whether as 2.5 or a Interm. Version (2.2/2.3/2.4 etc).

Sorry Skate, its been said here many times that the 2.5 is "" supposed "" to happen when the Caucasus joins the 2.1.x client, by one of the ED mods iirc. But honestly if it will or not, it doesn't really matter at this point. I agree with Sith, doesn't matter which one comes first SoH or Caucasus 2.0, I want all clients together, i.e 2.5 or whatever its called when the unification of the clients happens. :)

That I think would be a mistake. Do the merge when the map is release. Whether it’s in an alpha or beta stage. Having two of the same maps on different versions wouldn’t make sense. And make people mad all at the same time. And then release the SoH map after the merge.
