Vertical mice have been around for years and from almost any company that makes mice. Some people find that they are more comfortable to use. I have one in my collection but haven't used it in years.

While everybody else focuses on the HW I'd like a better look at that Hornet painting on your wall.

Very nice. I struggle to find military / aviation art myself. Can we get a better photo and maybe tell us who the artist is?

Going from memory, but that painting looks an awful lot like the one used as box art for the Falcon 3.0 Hornet addon circa mid-90s.

What voltage is your i9 9900K running at? Aren't 5.1 GHz gonna destroy it after only few months?

DCS Wishlist: 2K11 Krug SA-4 Ganef SAM, VR-TrackIR icons next to player names in score-chart

PvP: 100+ manual player-kills with Stingers on a well known dynamic campaign server - 100+ VTOL FARP landings & 125+ hours AV-8B, F-14 crew, royal dutch airforce F-16C - PvP campaigns since 2013

Bingo! You're spot on. I can also see by zooming in it's called "Stung by a Hornet". There is a signature too but I can't make it out.

You have a good eye there Dirty Sanchez.

doesn't that wear out the transistors quiet fast, even at low temperature? What mainboard are you using? And in your signature it says i7, not i9... there's no i7 9900k...

And I can't even get my Ryzen 5 1600X to 4.0 GHz without my entire PC freezing after 15-20 minutes for no apparent reason -.- AMD...

Nice office there... that backup rig of yours beats my main one hooves down. Still running a 3570K, but upped from 16GB to 32GB because DCS 2.5 felt the need for it (kept crashing with just 16 - having no pagefile though) shortly after it aired and replaced my 970 by a 1080 just a few months ago - that made such a huge difference. Had to save up almost for a year to get there... bucks being incapacitated for work, but I'm glad I can still keep up somehow at least in virtual flying and I enjoy every second there, mostly in DCS nowadays dealwithit.png

Watching your youtube videos I see that your HUD and MFD's are super clear as oppose to the stock graphics. What do you do to obtain this clarity? I'm running an 8700K 32GB 1080 with all the settings maxed and can't achieve a readable MFD. A little insight here would be helpful. Thanks

It's cool that you have that pick of the VMFA-531 Hornet on your wall. I was at El Toro when they decomm'd that unit. Along with (just previously) VMFP-3, on their RF-4B's. Then not a few years later, they shut the whole friggin base down and moved stuff all over SoCal, mainly to Miramar (which actually started out as a Marine base, oddly enough...). You're doing the Marines that flew/fly these legacy Hornets proud, just wanted you to know that.

Buying a new beast and dont want it to fall short in VR,

Wags, can you post a shot (or a forum post where you already shared this if applicable) to your nVidia control panel settings as well as your in-game settings. we have very similar system builds but your videos/gameplay captures look much better and smoother than my stuff.

Cheers.

Wow, I wish I could land like you guys! Noob here but please help me out, i'm struggling with even normal landings. How do you set up the approach and when you do your turns for normal landings how far out do you go? How far away from the runway do I stay on each leg of a turn or does it matter? Also, as I complete a turn, i'm never on the same altitude. Is there a way to auto set up such landings, like maybe using auto pilot to set specific boundaries? I've read the manual, tutorials and watched videos yet still very difficult for me. Any tips appreciated. Thanks!
