[RESOLVED] Control definitions bug APU

Hello

Bug:

Control definitions for "APU Stop Switch" and "Emergency Fuel Switch" and their covers are mixed up:

L-Shift + End

L-Ctr + End

R-Shift + F

R-Ctr + F

That means, if i assign a joystick button to the APU Stop Switch and press this button,

the Emergency Fuel switch is flipped and vice versa.

Feature/Change request:

I would be happy if the control type, especially for the switch covers, would reflect the real world-item type.

The switch covers just got a toggle-button in the control definition, but in real world they behave much more like a switch.

So it would be great to have (additional) separate "xyz cover open" and "xyz cover close" definitions.

Its important for cockpit builders and for joystick definitions (like the TM Warthog Engine and APU Operation switches).

Thank you ! :thumbup:

Yes, exactly.

Reported as ticket #32285.

There are many more control definitions missing.

For example the Canopy Lock handle and the Master Arms switch (ARMS CB, front panel).

If you have the time, please list the missing control definitions and I will try to have them added.

OK, here we go (dont think its really complete but most should be in):

(I copy the names from the official manual where available)

No control definitions found for (most needed on top and bold):

«ARMS» CB (<- Master Arm switch...important !)

«PORT – STARB. BOTH» double-position switch (<- need to switch this while fighting, no time to crawl behind the stick and play with the mouse ;) )

Emergency canopy jettison handle (front and rear)

Taxi-Landing lights control switch (front and rear)

Canopy lock handle (front and rear)

Remote command landing system (SDU) switch

«O-I» (Outer-inner NDB) switch (front and rear)

Fuel shut-off valve handle

Cockpit pressurization and ECS handle (front and rear)

De-Ice sensor (RIO-3) heating circuit check button

Emergency hydraulic system valves

«FLICKER – OFF – FIXED LIGHTING» navigation lights mode switch

«PITOT TUBE MAIN STBY» switch

«PITOT TUBE HEATING MAIN STAND-BY» lamp-buttons

«FLT RECORDER» switch

Fire Extinguish Button (and Cover) for Rear Cockpit

«MC. SYNCHR» magnetic heading alignment button

Control definitions available but dont work:

(with the mouse the knobs are functional, but not with key-combinations)

Kneeboard - next page ("previous page" is working -> "[" )

RV-5M (altitude setting knob & check button) (L-Shift + , / L-Shift + . / LAlt + LShift + R)

Attitude Directional Indicator (All knobs) (R-Shift + H / R-Ctrl + H / LWin + H)

Complete panels w/o control reference:

Signal flares control panel (contains also weapon configuration switches, important, especially as its located behind the Stick and very badly reachable in flight/fight)

Main CB panel (battery and engine switches -> important !)

RSBN-5S control panel

Cockpit temperature control panel with «HEAT-COLD-AUTO» switch and desired temperature dial

«ENGINE INDICAT. EMERG.» engine gauges emergency supply switch

Anti-icing system switch

«BRIGHTNESS 30% - 60% - 100%» navigation lights brightness switch

RKL-41 automatic direction finder control panel

AUXILIARY ELECTRICAL CB PANEL

Thank you for opening some tickets ! :thumbup:

Those should work in 1.5.0.45655, please check:

  • Kneeboard - next page
  • RV-5M Radio Altimeter Test Button/Decision Height Knob

I reported (ticket #32314) as not working:

  • Artificial Horizon Zero Pitch Trim Knob, CW (RCTRL+H)
  • Artificial Horizon Zero Pitch Trim Knob, CCW (RSHIFT+H)
  • Artificial Horizon Cage (LWIN+H)

After i deleted the file "C:\Users\...\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\L-39C\keyboard\Keyboard.diif.lua" the issue is fixed for me too. :thumbup:

That means the bug was with the default L-39 keyboard lua file.

It got copied over to the diff.lua and the DCS updater was not able to patch this file.

Yes, but there is still a bug.

For info: "[" and "]" are mapped on my german keyboard by DCS to the "Ü" and "+" keys.

attachment.php?attachmentid=124340&stc=1&d=1444592527

When i check the (default) config for "kneeboard - next page", the key-field appears to be empty. Nevertheless, the default key is working !

attachment.php?attachmentid=124334&stc=1&d=1444591961

As soon as i try to remap my "+" key to this function, the configuration dialogue warns me, that the key is already used for "next page":

attachment.php?attachmentid=124337&stc=1&d=1444592273

When i apply this change, a Keyboard.diff.lua-file is created and the key gets non-functional:

attachment.php?attachmentid=124338&stc=1&d=1444592303

local diff = {
["keyDiffs"] = {
	["d3001pnilunilcd100vd1vpnilvunil"] = {
		["name"] = "Kniebrett - nächste Seite",
		["removed"] = {
			[1] = {
				["key"] = "]",
			},
		},
	},
	["d3005pnilunilcd100vd1vpnilvunil"] = {
		["added"] = {
			[1] = {
				["key"] = "]",
			},
		},
		["name"] = "Kniebrett - nächste Seite",
	},
},
}
return diff

  • 5 months later...

My problem was, that i could not use the Kneeboard Next Site Button on my CH Pro Throttle.

Here is my solution:

This codepart was not working at all:

["d3005pnilunilcd100vd1vpnilvunil"] = {
           ["added"] = {
               [1] = {
                   ["key"] = "JOY_BTN6",
               },
           },
           ["name"] = "Kniebrett - nächste Seite",
       },

After reading this thread and changing the codepart to this version, everything was fine:

["d3001pnilunilcd100vd1vpnilvunil"] = {
           ["added"] = {
               [1] = {
                   ["key"] = "JOY_BTN6",
               },
           },
           ["name"] = "Kniebrett - nächste Seite",
       },

But, if i want to change the key assignment again it flipps back to d3005. I dont know which file is causing this problem. For me only a workaraound, and definitfly a bad bug in the *.lua.
