VR IMPROVEMENTS

Hey everyone, a little update. The map VR optimization changes are being integrated into the next DCS World version: 2.5.5. This will be for both the Caucasus and Persian Gulf maps. Nevada map VR optimization will come after.

 

2.5.5 will not be this week, but not too much longer now. As a few version, it's not as simple as a regular Open Beta, there needs to be a lot more testing and checking to make sure that all 3rd party modules are working.

no answer ... no effect ... thx :cry:

 

ya my guess is no as my theory is that in VR the terrain engine was being double drawn compared to 2d.... Just a guess

Will this optimization allow the Devs to increase the MSAA level, for example, including 8x & 16x options? I figured since the performance is increasing at the current state, will including more MSAA options be possible?

This is awesome news, thanks for the update Wags. Out of curiosity, are there any changes in the lighting engine coming with 2.5.5? With regard to stuff like the nav and collision light bleed through in cockpits?

We are looking forward to having the promised VR improvements. Pimax is from now Open VR.

 

What does that mean? (I'm a pimax user, so I'm curious..)

Pimax is opening up its propriety software to the community, making it now Open Source software. This will greatly open up many avenues of development and should strongly enhance the Pimax platform.

My guess is, no we won't see it at some point. I hope I'm wrong, however.

I was wondering if these improvements are limited to VR and specific maps, or they are more generic and relevant to the DCS Sim Engine.

Thanks Wags appreciate the update and am very excited! I personally show case DCS in VR as it has to be one if not the most amazing VR title! Thanks to you and the team for all your hard work!
