Surely this is just a slightly-late April Fools joke...???

I think it is not. Memory leak is when the memory usage is uncontrolably increasing until its maximum. Something like cancer. But in the latest version of DCS the memory usage is stable. So it is not the memory leak, I guess.

well i guess we will not get an official statement on that do we?

The memory leak / performance issues are still being worked on,

the 32 GB / Heavy Missions stipulation are just precautions.

Even without the memory / performance issues, we still had users trying to run VR on a machine that barely meets Minimum Spec, Thus a Separate Recommended Specs for VR,

We also had users running HUGE missions (mainly MP Missions) w/ systems that barely met minimum requirements as well.

Some of the Heavy Missions are Built on Machines w/ significant ram, and not optimized for machines with limited memory, regardless of any memory leaks.

There's no set parameters, as the threshold changes depending on system and mission design techniques.

But Mostly large MP Missions w/ a large number of units, trigger zones, slots etc etc.

A simple 10v10 Air to Air mission w/ nothing else on the map obviously wont use as much memory as a 10 player slot Coop/PvP mission with dozens of AI ground units, dozens of trigger zones that can activate even more units, and hundreds of randomly placed objects and units to just create ambiance in the environment.

So there's no need to "update" right? Can I still join MP servers that are hosted on "stable" from the beta version?

I just changed it to what it actually should be dealwithit.png

And I didn't even notice the changes have been made on the official DCS site. All I can state is that it definately does not run even an empty map without crashing on 8 gigs. I tried it. It's impossible without magic.

Yes, It's the released/stable version, and it has the same number of bugs, leaks and whatnot as Open Beta now, as both are the same build for the time being.

I thought when the stable version is out it was supposed to update 2.2 to 2.5? Mine is not updating.

1.5 updates to 2.5 and 2.2 is the dead end.

However, I STRONGLY advise that you keep 2.2 for Normandy and NTTR for the time being. Far less bugs on 2.2 than the same maps on 2.5.
