AV-8B Harrier Thread

There's been no picture posted of a real Harrier HUD with FLIR. DrPhibes (as he stated) posted a picture of the F-15E HUD.

Hey thanks for that correction. I must have missed that key fact somehow. Thanks again man.

(Rechecked post, now clearly see F-15E. Doh! Now wondering if I should recheck my actual work work..one of those days..lol)

Quick question, US Marine Corps Harrier pilots usually have their helmets covered by camouflage (same kind worn by troops in the theater of operations, eg... Desert or woodland Marpat for current day... Older camo for years ago)

They do this to show solidarity to the troops on the ground that they support with their CAS missions and also because every US Marine is a rifleman first... Even if they are a pilot, every Marine is trained as a rifleman

As there is no more deadly weapon than a US Marine and his rifle on the battlefield.

Just wondering if such a feature would be included for the AV8B you guys are working on, as little details such as this distinguish these Marine aviators from others.

I just did a quick search for razbam fsx harrier and I saw some photos of the pilots with helmet covers and also without, all and all it looks good... Small little details like these really add to the simulator experience.

Thanks for your answer to my question. I'm really looking forward to flying these things off those LHDs like the Bataan or Wasp which will turn out to be mad fun

Considering the WIP of the ships I think I will get this mod as soon as released, this way, I will support the A-29 Super Tucano as well, for sure the plane I'm looking forward the most. But, I have a question, I know they're not the same aircraft, but will the release ship with a RAF skin?

I dont think this video has been posted here already but if it has apologize for the Re-Post.

I Found a very interesting Video with a AV-8B pilot. (Who served during the Gulf War)

I think most of you (who have not seen it before) will find it interesting.

Great video Matte, did you watch part one as well? Harrier -- One Pilots Perspective

Longer but another great video with insight into development and flight operations

These PeninsulaSrs series of videos are great, watched a couple on the F-14 and F-5

Cheers

Behold the rattlesnake hunter: An AV-8B N/A in SEAD configuration. The dark missiles are AGM-122, a sidewinder based ARM.

Rattlesnake Hunter:

- 2 AIM-9M.

- 2 AGM-122.

- 2 LAU-3 with 19 HYDRA 70 HE each.

- 1 AN/ALQ-164 DECM pod.

As always, images are WiP and very likely will change before release.
