Visibility Animation in 3DS Max

Recommended Posts

I have started dabbling with 3DS and have had some success in animating parts (flight controls, landing gear, speedbrake) of a model I exported from FSX for learning purposes. I have managed to animate a sliding canopy in accordance with the draw argument document, and I have checked in the ED model viewer and it operates perfectly - up until I get to frame 91 where it should disappear (no draw). I have got it to do so in Max by using a visibility track, and it works exactly as desired but this isn't following through after export.

Could anybody advise me of the best way to achieve this?

Select mesh,

Open Curve Editor,

Click Mesh Name,

Tracks Menu, Add Visibility Track

Right Click Vis. Track, Assign Controller,

Choose Arg Based Visibility,

Add Event, Set Arg Number, Press OK,

Scroll to Frame 91, and use move the Visibility below the Line. (Use the Tool Icon 7th from the left, forgot the name off hand)
