Hi Baltic Dragon, During several attempts today Doge 2 didn't leave the formation to continue their route. They stayed in position even when I attacked the enemy at Echo 2. After a while, I realized they disappeared. After I defeated the enemy at Echo 2 and went to help Echo 3, they appeared again. I didn't have this issue with the Georgian flights joining we on previous missions. What I also realized is, that I didn't receive a call that my wingman and Doge 2 joined formation while anchoring at WP 1. Any hint? Cheers, DK

Sup So, recently trialed the F-14B and attempted to start up a instant action, It loads almost everything past halfway but when it tries to pre-load something, it will stop responding, I don't even get a crash log. I also tried campaign, multiplayer, etc. Does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

This only exists in the MT version the ST version does not do this. When launching missions, especially the first one after the app launch. The progress bar would show no activity for 1-2 minutes. After that initial mission, it would progress normally or very fast for several more missions. But then might slow again. After updating to the latest NVidia driver 532.29, that extended to several minutes. I started looking at the log files and DCS was always stuck on the same log entry. 2023-03-14 21:02:55.871 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 13 After several rounds of trials, I finally found the root cause. I was able to get it working and created a log file with the following excerpt. 2023-03-14 21:17:55.854 INFO TERRAIN (Main): lSystem::CleanScenes() 2023-03-14 21:17:55.854 INFO EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 13 2023-03-14 21:18:13.565 INFO EDTERRAIN4 (Main): TERRAIN_REVISION = 5124 You can see that it only took 18 seconds to complete the "EDOBJECTS (Main): lTypeObjectManagerImpl::clear 13" operation. My only complaint about this now is there is no progress bar update during this. There appears to be updating on the ST version. Edited Here - Please read this After even more of the same issue, I think I have found the proper correct cause and good workaround. It appears to be a file system deadlock. It happens whenever I would start a mission that used a different map from the last. What I have found is that I can break the deadlock just by opening a folder or some other file operation. This results in an immediate release of the deadlock situation. Edited Again 3/16 2:45 The actual workaround may be interacting with the UI of another app. I was fooled into thinking it was manipulating folders in file explorer. But I have found that other apps work even quicker. Simply moving the mouse across an open browser will do the same. In addition to updating my Nvidia driver I also updated windows. I am running Windows 11 Pro Build 22621. I and I now believe the windows update created the exasperated issue. Overall this has been an extremely positive upgrade to the sim. Thank you very much. Cheers. bad.dcs.log good.dcs.log

First of all, I´m a huge fan of this campaign, sure, there are some minor problems, e.g. very low visability on night tanking, some rough ai manouvering when flying in formation, etc, but overall...i´m loving it. Finally, i got to mission 16, but there, I´m not getting the "thumbs up" from the yellow shirt and flight 204 or sometimes peco is blocking cat 3, even I waited past 15.00, as mentioned in the breefing. Anyone an idea what I´m missing? Your help is very much appreciated...cu up in sky.

While flying the campaign a second time, I noticed that BIFF does not anker anymore but stays in formation all the time. For example when he is supposed to anker over Truckstop before landing or in mission 8 he also stays in formation for all the gun strafing rounds. I am pretty sure he did anker when I was playing it the first time.

Hi Greg, just finished mission 2, and after successful AAR (after I use F10-> F2 option to continue) I am told by Paco to get in a cruise formation for RTB (which I do), I get the "CNN news report", after that, lead sticks in formation with the S3 in its tanker track. I finished the mission by giving up on him and RTB'ed on my own back to Nellis (got the mission complete message after I stopped on the ramp). Presumably its our "old friend", the "AI won't detach from following another AI" bug that still hasn't been fixed by ED? Oh and BTW, you weren't kidding when you told us that this campaign will be hard as hell. Holy smokes. The only "above average" I got so far was for AAR. The rest are evenly distributed between "average" and "below average". I see myself doing a lot of reflying these missions in the next 6 months.

I wish a refund ED thx. Everytime I enter the runway my wingman just crashes into me and the mission is over. I know its probably not BD fault but EDs horror AI making as it unplayable and even takeoff in any of the missions so far (miz 3 currently after skipping the first two). I will also never buy any campaign again that includes AI. I stay at MP in the future exclusively

This mission features a huge thunderstoom that looks really amazing. There's acceptable visibility with rain in the starting airport and you are supposed to fly over the weather to Bastille, contact the missing pilot and then fly under the weather to get visual confirmation with flare launch. The briefing literally says to fly under the weather for the visual confirmation, but you can't do that in the target area because it's completely INSIDE the weather. It's really hard to see the flare and its nearly impossible to spot the hostile column. I had to turn labels on. I don't think this is WAD. Maybe it's something related with the new changes to weather in 2.8?

I play this wonderful campaign in 2d. With my rig, I have no problems with any stuttering or slowdowns when the 70 bombers show up and drop their bombs ( I know you recently optimized this which really helped). I can run this and all the other DCS campaigns I have including yours with totally maxed out settings on 2d without a hiccup. But for some reason, whenever my flight dogfights enemy fighters, I get constant stuttering which kills the immersion for me and makes the campaign unplayable for me. I noticed you had some stuttering when you were dogfighting in your youtube video of the channel map mission. However, your stuttering was not as bad as what I am experiencing. Any thoughts?

Hi. Not sure if this has been already reported, but I'm playing mission 3 and if I chose to skip the AA refuelling and start behind the tanker for WP3, the communications menu doesn't open up (meaning I can't get my wingman to do the tasks required). Anyone experiencing this too?

To be clear, this is not a DF bug directly. It affects other missions. I am trying to find out, and it shows in DF01 and probably more after that, if anyone else is getting AI aircraft going full afterburners to 10k feet after takeoff. The F14s, Cajun, and pretty much every AI plane taking off from a carrier. The primary problem with this bug is it is a real gas guzzler. And AI are already horrible about being fuel efficient. And any chasing wingman will use even more fuel to catch up. I'm getting this bug on two different computers. Fresh installs on both of them. It seems unlikely if it is a me problem, if two computers are getting it. And yet in a couple of bug places no one can seem to tell me if they get it or not. It seems to affect any mission made pre update. I've seen it a couple of times on after, but usually they behave.
-
Somehow saying solved and isn't. Major bug, not simply with this campaign. So far all missions created before the recent update now have aircraft going full burner to 10k feet. My missions were the first I saw this. then I decided to start this campaign waiting for any word on this and a fix. Cajun in mission 1 did exactly this. Not solved move. Full burners climbing to angles 10. Baltic Dragon, recommend someone press Eagle Dynamics about a fix. It seriously breaks missions, as the planes use a literal ton of fuel to do this, and any chasing planes use even more. As posted elsewhere in a bug report, these are my personal fun projects. 1 is the start of a mission created months ago. 2 is a basic mission only to test mission editor after the update, and the planes behave normally. Can anyone confirm if this is a just me issue, or a general issue? 1.trk 2.trk

solution Mission 07 crash/freeze
Jayhawk1971 posted a topic in F/A-18C Raven One: Dominant Fury campaign
Hi, I, too, am now plagued by freezing/ crashing issues. VR user. Mission freezes (with the "waiting..." message displayed) right when "things start to get interesting", as in it seems a major mission trigger event is happening (spawning of many assets?). I'm on the most recent OB patch. Here follow mission spoilers: Log file attached. dcs.log -
So ive completed the combat part of this mission a couple times now, but as i RTB i get no "switch marshal calls" or anything, basically the report status is the last comm, then within 50 i just switch to marshall and use standard radios, but both times the whole game freezes up. i never get it anywhere else in the game, only this mission at that point. I also noticed the scoring wasnt accurate, when i reported he said i got 2 migs and a brushback, but i killed the 2 migs (didnt hit space for wingman), the high hitter and 2 brushbacks myself, i understand this is probably a DCS issue but just thought id report it anyway

After hitting our target at 20:15,there were no any communications and orders. In fact,I was just flowing with my AI lead between WYPT 3 and 4.Besides,I also found that AI Tomcats didn't drop their GBU-24s at all! How can I slove this problem?
-
Hi BD. First congrats to you, Hoser, Jello and the whole team on a fantastic campaign. Loving it so far. Raven One was a high water mark, and you've just reset it with DF. M08 Issues: 1- The target co-ords are wrong on the kneeboard notes. ----WARNING: Potential spoiler below!! 2- I've now tried M08 4 times and every time I form up with Redkite after he's hit the sim crashes. I usually catch him just after we pass over the first mountain peaks. It might be just my computer freaking out, but other missions and campaigns seem to work fine so i thought id mention it here and see if anyone else is having similar issues...?

I've played Mission 6 (the TOT strike on the IL-78 at Beruit Airport) three times now, and each time following bomb release and coming off target, I get zero communications via radios on Pri Channel 1 (Strike Com.)/Aux Channel 1 (Tactical). I have tried staying with Pistol 13 the entire way, as well as flying directly to WP4 (Get Well) after weapons release, but no matter what I do, I do not get any communications via radio after Musket 22 acknowledges not to engage Power Drill prior to hitting WP 2 (Rock). Am I doing something wrong here? Easy communication is off. I can still land on the carrier and I will be told mission accomplished, however I cannot help but think that I am missing something in between coming off target and landing.
-
A couple minutes into mission 6 while programming my JDAMs, the aircraft suddenly received an impact as if it hit an invisible wall or were caught in terrain. The impact broke my rear left landing gear and I had to restart. The second time, I removed the wheel chocks before this happened. The impact still occurred, but it didn't damage the aircraft and I was able to continue. I also didn't hear any further radio comms after receiving messages about POWER DRILL while approaching the IP.

I'm replaying Zone 5, and I noticed an oddity. (Of course, because I'm extemely observant, I noticed it only by the time I got to event 9, even though this has affected every mission up until 9!) The AI--both friendly and enemy--is completely refusing to use any weapon aside from IR-guided missiles. (They might be willing to use the gun, too, but it's hard to say for sure, since it's much more difficult for the AI to satisfy those parameters.) I thought it might be a DCS issue, and apparently there have been some bugs reported like this, so I also just tried a BVR practice mission that I had created. I hadn't messed with the default AI behaviors, and both my AI wingman (using standard DCS AI comms) and the bandits fired AIM-54s and R-27s (respectively). So, while this might be to some extent a DCS bug, it appears to be especially effective at crippling both the friendly and enemy AI in Zone 5. Edit: I should clarify that the difference is very obvious when I compared my Tacview track of Event 9 that I just played with the track of the same event played in August. In August, the sky was full of missiles before the merge; my wingmen were firing away with Sparrows and Phoenixes, and so were the bandits (with just Sparrows, obviously). In this case, I was the only one who fired anything other than an AIM-9.

All went fine till I've lined up with the active runway and doing the final check-list with Biff. Suddenly, his plane crashed onto my plane's back (I think he was trying to take off). I've punched out just before it was too late and sat on the runway floor watching the fireworks... How sad.
-
Usually, if I take off first in mission 2, BIFF just stays behind. But if I wait for BIFF to taxi first and follow him, he takes off. He's hard to catch up to because he's all over the place. If I get into a formation with him he then starts to fly formation as my number two. We fly over the truck stop and I even get the go ahead from departure after contacting them to resume my own navigation. BIFF says go to 10000 feet to get out of Las Vegas air space. And then he says nothing. I fly the whole flight plan and even get back to Nellis. BIFF is silent the whole time. I drop my gear for landing, BIFF does same. But just as he's about to touch down, he accelerates away. Finally he crashes.
