I'm looking for the inwards portion/bevel (not the screen). Is there a way in MV2 to say click an area and it tells me what texture is used? Thanks!

Hello everyone. Is there any mods that add equipment on the dashboard of aircraft? Like pubs bags, charts, books, and anything that a pilot may carry and stow somewhere in the aircraft? Thanks
-
Hello. Does anyone by chance have any cockpit revamps that replace REDFOR FC3 aircraft with different cockpits? For example, an Su-25A with an MFD in it? Thanks

Instead, I would install rotary encoders in place of the potentiometers. This way, you can also use the BBI-64 Button Box Interface (which doesn't support axes), but has enough inputs, and you'll save the 12-button USB board. https://www.leobodnar.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=94&products_id=300 !! NOTE !! This thing is BIG! If you have a small printer like me (Creality Ender 3), you have to print some parts WITHOUT rafts!!! The UFC can be mounted slightly tilt forward or straight. There are two option you can print. You can label the panels by changing the filament at the appropriate print height in Cura (etc.). I only did this for the buttons. I printed the other labels on adhesive film. I made these prints resistant with acrylic paint. So, there is an option "NO-LABELS" for some STL parts. I have attached a suitable PNG or here https://milkris.de/s/DtK6gxqaiAgqQTo. This can be easily printed on A4 adhesive film. For some areas in the interior, such as the housing for the electrical boards and the back panel of the UFC, I simply used a 3mm PVC foam board. I simply used a Leobodnar BU0836X USB board, as well as a simple 12-button joystick USB board. It's not pretty, but it works out of the box. Of course, you can also use a different solution (Arduino, etc.). # Note: I wouldn't use potentiometers next time, even though it might be less tactile and realistic. Instead, I would install rotary encoders in place of the potentiometers. This way, you can also use the BBI-64 Button Box Interface (which doesn't support axes), but has enough inputs, and you'll save the 12-button USB board Since I already use a 4K monitor and three 7" MFD screens, my monitor outputs were scarce. The solution was the "Matrox TripleHead2Go". I got the DP version cheaply on eBay. Here I combined my three 800x600 MFD screens into one 2400x600 screen. Now I only need one DP connection to the graphics card for my three MFDs, and I can connect the UFC to the graphics card with a DP to HDMI cable. The viewpoint export must be adjusted exactly so that the lines are readable. Please refer to the pictures at Thingiverse! Since I change the UFCs, throttles, and joysticks depending on the aircraft i fly, I have created various PowerShell scripts for starting DCS, which accordingly adjust the MonitorConfig, etc. before starting DCS If you only use the UFC in VR, you can also simply use a red acrylic glass instead of the LCD screen. It's alive!!! it's a mess My little helper have soldered most of the wires My little corner. Full convertible Cockpit.

Is it possible activate a Trigger Event thru a keyboard action? In other words can I set up some unassigned keyboard combination (LAlt-? & R-Ctrl-?) that will initialize a Trigger Event to do something as simple as Ex: 'Close Canopy', then 'Anti-Skid ON', then more using X:COCKPIT PERFORM CLICKABLE ACTION Yes, I know there is a keyboard function(s) for this (it's just a simple example) but I'm thinking about a pseudo-script in ME Triggers that will do a series of actions in the cockpit at the press of a keyboard combo. As a follow-up...could I then activate the same Trigger Event via Voice Attack? Example: By assigning a VA action to words 'Let's GO' > KeyPress (LAlt-? & R-Ctrl-?) this could theoretically trigger the 2 events in my example above. Yes, I know I can do this directly thru VA but I actually want to do a series of 5+ Cockpit actions and VA is not as friendly IMHO in this kind of pseudo-scripting for .

When you go into the Special Options tab, and select an aircraft, there is most often a dropdown option on any particular module to set its cockpit livery. However, on the Apache (and P-51 too while mentioning this), creating a new livery in DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\AH-64D\Liveries\Cockpit_AH-64D doesn't function correctly. While I can see the new livery I created as an option in the drop-down menu in Special Options, DCS will not render that cockpit ingame, and will only render the 'default' cockpit...despite an otherwise cockpit livery being selected. Oddly, in other modules that have cockpit language options, those will work correctly in DCS. However DCS seems to have an aversion for applying any cockpit livery other than what is installed default with the module. What the result is, while the cockpit livery function is broken, I must hijack the 'default' livery manually, and overwrite it with my own livery. However this requires destroying the default cockpit livery in the process to inject my own. Please fix this for the Apache (and other modules plagued with similar problems).

Hi was wondering if anyone have seen or found pictures giving an overview over the pilots cockpit in the F-15E... Would be nice to could start planing how to setup my VirPils Panels, SteamDeck SL and other at my humble homecockpit Are there any differences between the DCS version and the real life version, some panels there are deliberate left out, if they ain't in game..? Thanks in advance

Posting on behalf of reddit user https://www.reddit.com/user/NotKalashnikov/ since he needs to wait 24 hours to post it as a new DCS forum user. Original post here: Feature concept: transparent pilot model around cursor. I don't use pilot body because it prevents me from seeing switches I want to press. It could be also applied to stick and throttle if it's in the way of buttons.

First off - I'm not an engineer , nor exceptionally smart - so I had to lean heavily on this awesome community for inspiration and help. And trust into the motto: " just start and figure it out as we go" Big shout out to @Bog9y and @Xpendable- who've been an amazing helpers and gave me loads of feedback and input. Also to @sea2skyfor the general idea of creating a generic cockpit, that doesn't have to be suuuuper detailed and usable for multiple applications. I started with the typical setup some of us have - 2x Cugar MFDs and a small Numpad in the middle as my desk setup - it's easily built up and easily removed. As I played more and more, and also began to fly more serious ( thanks TAW JTF88 !) my setup stayed built up more and longer - and I wanted to make things more realistic and playable. I started building @obious designed AV8B UFC as well as @FoxDelta After that was done, soon I saw @sea2sky generic F18 cockpit , and I wanted to design something similar - generic but rooted in the AV8B. I learned how to use Shapr3D ( Fantastic Ipad app, if you have the iPencil as well) and designed the cockpit in it. I wanted it to be a small profile / small footprint type of simpit, that I could move around - hence the setup with the rollers and the "platform" that goes just up to the seat. The side panels are moveable as well, so that you can get it all together From this it went to a local CNC shop, got the wood adjusted it and painted it - and through the different building stages we ended up with this: things I still want to do short / mid term: 3 WinWing MFDs, 1 WinWing takeoff panel built in Throttle built into the left panel Figure out storage for my keyboard and kneeboard when not in use Glare shield Better seat solution Questions?Tips ? Comments? let me know €dit: Embed fail...will upload hi res pics once I find the will to do it all again

Hi all, I’ve started my A-10C II cockpit build and thought maybe someone is interested in following along. I’m doing some things different (i think), for example custom PCBs and completely modular panels connected with regular network cable. If you want to know more you can find the blog here https://warthogathome.com I’m learning as i go, so if anyone has any input i’ll gladly hear it. Especially around the electronics since that’s what I’m working on now, and I don’t have any formal education on the subject.

Hello folks, just curious if anyone has successfully built an F-5E sim pit? I'd like to build one as well! Also wondering where the best place to find cockpit dimensions is. Ideally would love to line things up 1:1 for vr use! Cheers!

Bug-WIPER: The wiper does not actually interact with the rain or droplet effects, there are no animations or shaders for streaks, dry streaking, spray accumulation aso. The forward shield also goes "clear" in a boolean state by trigger conditions (seemingly). That "rain droplets" are a clientside-only option and global (by sheer necessity) rain does not interact with modules is neither relevant for the bug nor fit as an explanation pretense. The same issue persists with the Mi-8 HIp module for years. Bug-WIPER-Switch: The mousmap for the wiper-switch in the cockpit covers the entire switch area, suggesting by Eagle and general DCS logic a toogle through the various settings via RMB or LMB. REALITER the actionmaps are extremely tiny for SPECIFIC swtich positions the position labels LMB-only, both breaking the logic applies in DCS in general, while being unergonmic especially if throttle-ministicks or VR solutions are used to interact with the cockpit. That in theory there is a workaround via binding is irrelevant, as this is for simpits mostly in the absence of an actual API, while a normal user will not bind this tertiary binding on the limited buttons on a a HOTAS setting. Reproduction: 100%, global, not system-dependent, no trackfile needed. Workaround: keyboard binding

Hello all, not sure where this belongs so posting in here as its the best place I can tell at the moment. I am running a VPC LED Tool on my machine, which grabs certain exported arguments and allows me to set triggers and LED states based on certain events in cockpit. For example, A/S turns my stick LED green/red depending on safe/armed, I have also programmed my Master Caution reset button to flash when its triggered and then return to green when reset. The way VPC LED works is that there it has the standard telemetry available for every DCS module, that it looks for. Then a second module dependant LUA file for each aircraft specific data. In this case the AH64 has Master Caution as I mentioned above, but not Master Warning. There are a few others missing which I would like as well like Tail Wheel lock. How/Where do I find the list of all exported cockpit arguments for the AH64 please, so I can add them to the LUA to programme the LEDS from Thanks

Hi all, Since I am a huge fan of the JAS-39 and JF-17 I've created a re-skin of the default JF-17 cockpit to look like the JAS-39. Grey consoles, metal bolts, a new ejection seat, new MFD colors to match those of the Gripen. I've also included new fonts and Hud graphics to push the transformation. These modifications need to be installed in the base install and in the saved game folder. Installation procedure : Download the zip file form the DCS User files Extract the ZIP to your desktop Put the Liveries folder (in the Saved Game folder) in your saved game folder (this location may vary depending on your install, but this is where you put your mods) **Optional** Beware that you will lose the original files so if you want to revert back Make copies Use the fix function Use software like OVGME Put the Mods folder (in the DCS folder) in your based folder (this location may vary, but this is where DCS is installed) overwrite the files Activate the JAS39 cockpit (customized cockpit option) in the special option menu in the main DCS screen. Enjoy

Have searched and couldn't find any explanation to these two, look like buttons or lights..? Anyone can help with an explanation to what they are, thanks.!

In the (beloved) Smoerebröd-UFO the HUD-Glass can be raised via a lever. This is both possible via cockpit-interaction or keybind. As for the cockpit-interaction (ingame, in-cockpit) of the module, the mousemap for the cursor seems to be placed wrongly. Instead of being placed at/on/over the LEVER, the mousemap is situated at/on/over the HINGE. This results in a rather finnicky mousemapping interaction from the standard cam-position and/or creates the necessity to lean sideways to be able to raise the HUD-glass. While easily manageable with a mouse this can be extra tricky if fe a mouse-thumbstick on a HOTAS is used. The green marker shows the current mousmap area (oversized) while the red marker shows the actual LEVER where the mousemap should be placed. No trackfile needed, reproduction possible 100% in all instances and situational combinations.

Hi developers, Is it possible to have a basic chatter in the cockpit for the player without having to add a chatter file and activation zone all the time ? Think it will save us a lot of extra unnecessary extra work to have the 'real feel' upgrade. Thanks RWC

I found an "Ultrak KEGS5000" serial keyboard and I'd like to use the same in DCS world. I've been able to convert the keyboard to USB and now it has been recognized by windows 10. Now I'm trying to use the keyboard in DCS World. I wrongly was expencting to bind the keys using DCS world, but I understood that I need DCS BIOS. So, I installed DCS BIOS e connected to the right COM port. Now, how to bind those keys? Do I need to buy an Arduino controller or I could write my lua file in order to use this keyboard? Any suggestion will be very appreciated. Thank you d36a15c9-ca76-4d05-a8b0-36858569361f.jfif

hello, good afternoon or evening, this time I will be brief and short in this forum, currently there is a bug in which the directions of the parts of the textures of the cabin of the mig-29 are badly placed, which are the kind of hud gyroscopes, a small notepad on the right side and on the radio frequency change knob of the mig-29 (all versions of this), then I will leave the captures that I take in model-viewer, but they happen both in e model-viewer and inside the simulator

Hi friends! I want to know if is there any place to share projects to build in home? I am starting this topic with the intention to share my projet in the future and colaborate with community's projects. I am doing this display with arduino leonardo and a 9,7 hdmi display. The bezel will be backlighted too, so it start from a white material, receive paint and translucent label. I am also working in a force feedback control with 775 dc motors, arduino and optical encoder. you can see a planetary to colect three motors torque in the image above The flight control project will contemplate, ailerons and elevators controls, also rudder.

Kneeboards on pilot model is important for successful and immersive missions. Stopping you from leaving gameplay looking for radio frequencies or waypoints. I would like to see an improved resolution mostly from a VR standpoint, and maybe more available file types. I would also like to see the kneeboard to include mouse clickable controls and option to include a kneeboard on both pilot legs for those large missions. thanks
