As per a few weeks back they were porting shaders to Vulkan. Noone can say how long that will take.

I wouldn't expect too much from it, just to be safe. It really depends on how much they are able to refactor the software architecture. A lot of stuff in DCS still runs in one thread.

Doing that would actually be a rather bad idea because of the comparatively low bandwidth of the connection between RAM and GPU. To render a frame you need to work on big amounts of data to generate...

The gains from going to Vulkan will hinge on whether the renderer will get one or ideally multiple threads separate from the physical simulation engine.
