  1. Looks like I've been a bit remiss in keeping this thread updated with P-51 news. Well, how do you guys like the look of our throttle? This was printed by one of the guys in our community. Another development is that I know a lot of folks are nervous of 3D printing so I'm really pleased that we've finally got a scheme going where community members will print for others at mates rates. We're calling it the Community Approved Printing (CAP) scheme and all the guys doing the printing are experienced AuthentiKit/printing guys. Here's the kind of quality for the pedestal trim wheels for example, this version printed in two colour PLA. There are two guys in the States now and as an example for the price, they'll currently print everything you need to get going with a fully functional P-51D throttle for $99 + postage. More info here https://authentikit.org/p51-winter24/
  2. Not built by me but built by Rafał Sobiczewski using my authentikit.org designs and a little modding. Can run off one Leo Bodnar BU0836A. Designed for press and screw fit assembly of 3d printed parts without soldering, cutting, drilling, programming.
  3. Throttle quadrant updated to V3 today. Assembly video:
  4. The assembly video for this AuthentiKit Spitfire chassis lever is now live. Sure beats pressing the G key in DCS
  5. Nearly there with the free downloads from authentikit.org
  6. Sorry I don't have an update on the P-51D yet, but we are making progress with the American warbirds. This new P40 quadrant is just out and the cool feature about this is the new hydraulic damping tech that has been incorporated so you get a strong sturdy sense of resistance like you're really pushing the throttle lever against some mechanical resistance. If you're new to this, AuthentiKit is a freeware project and the controls are made from kits, but they're easy to assemble (Airfix style without soldering, cutting, workshop tools) in about 90 mins as this video shows. A little project for the Christmas break? You don't need a 3d printer either - with our quality checked AuthentiKit Community Approved Printer scheme there's simmers-with-printers around the world who'll print for you for a very fair price.
  7. The latest in the AuthentiKit range of freeware flight controls.
  8. If you've had the impression that the AuthentiKit system is only about Spitfires, I now have this on the printer. P40B Tomahawk trim wheel set. Hoping to have it ready this week for the launch of the MSFS version by Big Radials but DCS fans should enjoy it too. It plugs into the same sockets as the Spitfire controls so no need for an additional controller board. https://authentikit.org/p40b/ Still another week or two to finish off the quadrant to go with it.
  9. Axis for gunsight is definitely an option. Hat switches are probably outside the scope for core AuthentiKit unless you know one that requires no soldering. All AuthentiKit projects can be done at a kitchen table without any tools. A slightly less distressed quadrant and its trim.
  10. Spade grip is biggest. Any non "mini" printer is fine, though I'm actually also trying to make everything fit on a mini, such as Prusa Mini. Bit small but an affordable Prusa if you're on a budget.
  11. No problem. That's plenty big enough build size. Jump on the Discord group and ask for people's opinions who have that printer. A few of them will.https://discord.gg/w7NWwevj
  12. Also Reuben at SimKitSupplies has been contacting the various people offering print services on Discord and sounding them out about their experience, facilities and generally checking up on how they'd approach the job with a view to being able to make introductions for people who ask him. https://www.simkitsupplies.com/fullkit/
  13. Yes, it has a step as a detent. I'm actually having more fun with the Mk1a version for WEP mode.
  14. Thanks! Have you downloaded the ZIP? Open the assembly guide PDF and every item is listed along with suggested PLA and colours. Towards the end. Have fun !
  15. I'm looking forward to seeing some user builds of the new throttle but for now, get an eyeful of this...
