  1. I don't seem to have "AppData" folder at all. The only NaturalPoint folder I can fins is in C/Program Files (x86). However the only profiles stored in the folder "profiles" there are the 3 original ones - smooth, one2one and default. None of my ones. If I knew where to find my ones I'd save them and reinstall the software. I know my pitch curve may look excessive but it's the only way I seem to be able to make it work given my set up so I don't strain my eyse like crazy looking in the opposite direction of my head movement. the actual movement on the screen is not as excessive as you might think from the curve. Either way, the problem is not specifically in the curve I suspect as I have the same issue in yaw, and my yaw profile is fairly representative of what most folk what have. And even if I do chance the pitch to what you have, apart from having to strain my eyes like crazy I still get the jitters. Something else must be wrong.
  2. Not really an issue in terms of playing the mission as you never see these aircraft up close anyway but after landing back I cycled through the F2 views and found that the 2 Iranian F-14s are using identical USAF skins (looks like Agressors) and the the MiG-21s are Serbian? Flying in the middle of the Iranian desert? I thought it was rather strange anyway. Perhaps this was a mistake in chosing the skins so thought I'd point it out. Otherwise this mission felt enjoyable and realistic, no complaints :)
  3. I see, thanks for that! Yeah I don't think they respect player push times. I pushed at maybe 10s behind and ended up flying right next to another AI landing.
  4. Hey folks, Ever since I got my track IR 5 over 6 months ago I've been having a super annoying problem that I cannot solve. I've tried everything from forums to manuals to youtube videos - literally nobody seems to have the specific issue I have. The only way round it that I can think of is by having a small dead zone at any position of the head - so not just the on-center position (that you can do easily with curves). Basically my curves and everything is set up exactly like I want and I have no complaints with the actual movement left/ right/ up/ down. When my head is more or less facing forward +/- 20deg or so I have no issues - the image is rock steady. As soon as I turn my head more, to lets say look down and flip a few cockpit switches, the camera just cannot hold very steady. If I REALLY REALLY concentrate on keeping my head stationary, the camera sort of just-just moves a little up and down, enough for me to not be able to flip a switch very easily without having to counteract with my mouse for this smooth but still annoying 'jitter'. So since then, I've tried everything from sitting higher, closer, changing curves, adjusting various settings in the "camera" section in the trackir software, and I even bought a new trackclip pro in case the problem was with faulty LEDs - but no, same thing. The only thing that's left to change is the actual tracker module that sits on top of my monitor. So before I do that, is there anything I can do? What would solve it is if I could set a small dead zone for any given head position, not just on-center. But I can't see any way of doing that? I also considered deleting and re-installing the software but I'm afraid it wont make any difference and I'll just loose my curves profile :( Would really appreciate any input! Cheers! Screenshots of my trackir settings below.
  5. One more thing. How do you kiss off/ get rid of your wingman on a CASE 3 recovery?
  6. Surprised there's no sticky for this. Anyone made any realistic missions or campaigns on the Syria map yet? Interested in anything except Incirlik - runs like dog sh*t thanks ot the huge city next to it :( As we know there's a huge amount of activity from Hmeimim with the RuAF. Anyone created any ops from there? Cheers!
  7. I don't understand how anyone can argue with the fact that the MiG-29's FM in DCS has some super obvious flaws, regardless of whether you know how the real thing flies or not. Or perhaps more specifically the way the FCS behaves, especially at near full deflections of the stick. Ask a simple question - if it flew in real life the way it does in DCS - would that be acceptable to any pilot? I'll be amazed if anyone says yes. The non-linear response of the FBW at times is quite ridiculous. I've binned the idea of doing any flying on it until something gets done about it. I mean obviously no FM in DCS is perfect, but some really convey a realistic feel 95% of the time. The 29 is a disaster in DCS as it stands. I sincerely hope the newsletter was showing how they are currently evaluating the flight model to improve it and not a pat on the back for doing a great job with the one we have currently - that would be one hell of a waste of a newsletter.
  8. Ah cheers. At Oshkosh, I'm fairly certain they were a lot lower than 500ft. There were Raptors beating up the field and I could have sworn it was less than 300ft. But then I'm not surprised Americans have less restrictive rules. For smaller props the hard deck seemed 0ft. For jets I would guess around 300ft for low passes.
  9. Hi folks, trying to find some info on this. Specifically relating to fighter jet demos. What is the hard deck for airshow displays and what are the other restrictions normally that they need to comply with (like being sub-sonic)? Is there a certain box size for the display? Working on some display routines in DCS and am curious on finding out the basic rules. Cheers!!
  10. So I've no idea how this happened but no matter what scenario I load up my pilot helmet from external vie has a missing texture - looks like a digital green pixel camo... nyone else have this or know how to fix it? I have no idea how that happened.
  11. Interesting. I'll have to have a closer look next time. Thanks!
  12. Wow that's a quick response to feedback! I suppose this will be updated with the next official patch? Is there a way to go back a mission and re-fly it in the campaign or you have to find it via the mission editor?
  13. Hey folks, I'm sure there's a way to kiss off your wingman before yo break over the carrier but I can't for the love of god find a command to map in the controls section nor a radio menu option to make this happen so my wingman just ends up following me round the whole circuit before it's logic decides something is not right and he shoots off on final. What's the name of the command or radio menu option? Cheers!
  14. I see. Damn. No plans to buy the Viper. Hopefully Something with the Hornet/ AV-8B/ F-5 pops up for Syria.
  15. Fantastic! I will be buying for sure :) Any plans for anything with the Syria map?
  16. Tbh it's just more the textures when you are on the ground - if you could see some real 3d snow and really cool wintery effects on the ground, I'd be all over it. But atm it just looks like textured white ground in DCS so I way prefer the summer grass. I might change the date then if you think it wont affect anything too much. What missions/ campaigns are you working on currently?
  17. But what if you're the only aircraft inbound? You still join the stack before proceeding to the initial? I mean seems kinda wasteful.
  18. Ah yeah I was wondering why it wouldn't let me change any of the numbers.
  19. Got you, cheers! I'm sorry to go off on a slight tangent, but another question - how do you set the squawk in the F-18? Not that it really matters all that much for flying and shooting stuff, but I'm still curious.
  20. Yeah that's sort of what I figured. Only thing is the comms in DCS don't actually tell you to enter the marshaling stack or exit it. Would be good if they added that!
