  1. What i mean is that FD on is the same as press and holding the trimbutton. You dont need to fly after the hud symbolik while using FD on. It just switches off the Autopilot and prvides dampening on the selected AP channels like Dugong said. When you press and hold the trimbutton, you get the same effect as far as i know. Only dampening effect without the autopilot fighting back. The FD makes it very easy for me when i need smooth and precise control while flying very low between trees and houses for example. I really like the collidable tress, flying low makes total sense now. :)
  2. I do all my maneuvering with FD on and when im stable i hit the trim once and then disable the FD. The FD on does the same as the trim button, just without the trimmig. ;) This way i can perfectly do all kinds of maneuvers without irratic unwanted moves like it is when fighting the AP channels. I really like the FD, cant imagine why not using it.
  3. You could use shadowplay as an nvidia graphics card user, it is for free.
  4. Ah ok i understand. Thats of course a dilemma. :(
  5. Maybe you should consider editing the missions in the ME before playing them. A easy way ist to load the campaign, click the missionplaner, close it and go straight to the ME and you should have the right mission already loaded. Now you can edit the weather conditions and save the mission. Afer that just go back to your campaign, load it and enjoy the target locking. :)
  6. Not only time of day. If you play around with clouds you get really short lock distances with Shkval. I played the last mission of the deployment campaign where time of day is 10:30 with really bad weather and cloud density at max (10). When i set cloud density to 8 instead of 10 i can perfectly lock on targets at long ranges.
  7. Yeah, deffered shading off works but it is a no go for me, sadly. :)
  8. With a bit of practice its relatively easy to distinguish by daylight. Also the behavior of the helicopter helps. In my case i only need to know if the heading channel is on or not. On the second picture it is the same as in the first one. PITCH and HDG are on, the others are off. :) But of course, this needs to be fixed. All of the illumnated buttons should be clearly visible. I really hope this gets fixed fast.
  9. Yeah no problem and dont forget to replace your altered missionfiles when a new patch came out like today. Altered files should be backed up in the newly created backup folder or just backup them manually after altering them in a seperate folder.
  10. You can edit the missionfile in the ME. I did it for all the Mevedev missions because some units are spawned in trees and need to be moved a bit. Move the enemy units out of the trees or play that mission with icons on and spam them with 80xS-8OFP2 rockets. Dont use the S-8KOM rockets because they have less HE/Fragments. But if you want to play all the stock compaigns i think it is necessary to use the ME to make them playable. So better get used to using ME. ;)
  11. Thanks for the tip! I downloaded the Vergeev Group Campaign and played the first three missions in 2.5. It worked. In the second mission i just increased the trigger zones for the player so i will not miss any trigger. The only issue that i had so far is that AI choppers can still fly through trees and because of that, sometimes your lead helicotper is invisible due to trees. ;)
  12. For all who have issues with the file copy from 2.2. Close your download and just manually copy the terrain folders from \DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\mods\terrains\nevada and \normandy to \DCS World\mods\terrains\. Be sure you have both \nevada and \normandy in your \terrains folder. After that, use Windows Explorer, Navigate to the Main DCS Folder, Hold Down Left Shift, and Right Click on the /Bin Folder and Choose Open Command Prompt Here). and type in the Command Prompt Window: "DCS_Updater.exe update" and Press Enter. If done correctly, you only have about 22 GB to download. At least it seems to work for me. Instead of 49 GB i only need 22 GB.
  13. My question was if i have to keep 2.2 alpha when i have the 2.5 beta already installed. The answer was that i should keep 2.2 files so DCS can copy files from that install. Thats why i was confused because 2.5 beta already has the files that 2.2 alpha has. My original question: This was the answer i got: So maybe its a language barrier but i thought i was clear about what i wanted to know. Sorry for that. So i dont need to keep 2.2 alpha after i installed the 2.5 beta. Thats not confusing anymore and i have the answer i was looking for. Thank you! :)
  14. So the files from the 2.5 beta will not be copied for the 2.5 stable version of the game. Thats confusing. I think i have to move 2.2 to another location then because i dont have enough SSD space left. Anyway, thank you!
  15. Hey guys. I converted my 1.5 stable to 1.5 beta. I would like to know if i have to rename /DCS World to /DCS World OpenBeta and do the same within the registry and saved gamefolder? I also like to know if after 2.5 beta is out and installed, do i need to keep 2.2 OpenAlpha or will the installer copy the needed files from the 2.5 beta version of the game for the stable version?
