  1. Sorry but what does this mean in comparison with the other modules? Especially the F-15C. Because the F-15C FM acording the infobar matches the charts perfectly.
  2. I don't have a problem if it's off at the moment. Due to complexity of the flight model and the devs desire to get it as close as possible to the real thing, is understandable that things like this can hapen. The thing that scares me is if they say that the flight model was wrong before and the cat was overperforming and now is more accurate. Victory 205 mentioned in another post that the F-14A was slightly overperforming now.
  3. Today I tried 1v2 guns only F-14B vs F-15C; F-14B vs JF-17; F-14B vs Su-33 on build 2.5.6.57530 and then the same missions on the last path (2.5.6.59398). I didn't do any professional testing and comparisons with charts or something, but It felt much more maneuverable on the 2.5.6.57530 (November 10 patch). I could out rate the JF-17 on the deck with no problem and the same goes for the Su-33. On the last patch there is no way that you can out rate the JF-17. My guess is that the FM is not the same as before.
  4. While we wait for the F-14A :D I want to share a couple of interesting stories by Capt. Dale “Snort” Snodgrass that I came across on You Tube. I don't think that these videos where posted before, and If so please forgive me I've tried my best searching for them on the forum before posting. Mock dogfight F-14B vs F-15 Mock dogfight F-14A vs brand new F-18 Pulling 9-10g to avoid SAM
  5. Is drag increased when using maneuvering flaps also? If you are not using full flaps for BFM, is the FM same as before the patch?
  6. Try entry speed approximately 300 kts or even less, and then start by pulling constantly 15-17 units of AoA while going up in the vertical (but not less, you will lose more energy than other 4 gen adversaries because of the lower t/w). When you start going nose down you can increse to 20-25 units. If you want to increase more of you're energy fast, try easing on the AoA when nose down. This way I easily come on top even with the AI F-16 when he starts to do those perfect loops.
  7. According NATOPS you can't use them for combat, but... many Tomcat pilots at least of the record did use them, especially the ones who wanted to remind the Hornet pilots who's still the boss :D. On a serious note, just retract them when you go over approximately 240-290 kts and they wont jam. In case they do, you can't do nothing about it, you have to land and repair. Before the latest patch (you know before the "Small adjustments to thrust and drag models":D) you didn't need them for turning, at 320-350kts you could out turn everything. Even now except for the F-16 you good to go without them
  8. I also notice that there is quite a bit decrease in trust and in sustained turn performance now. I used to out turn the MiG-29 easily on the deck at 300-350 kts and then when he go to the vertical, I flowed him with no problem, but now ... I can only say thank god for the flaps. :)
  9. While we eagerly wait for the next Tomcat video to come out :D I wanted to share one interesting You Tube video that I accidentally came across. It's a discussion and some interesting/funny stories by Iranian Tomcat pilot Asad Adeli, and USN aviators Hermon "Munster" Cook and Larry "Music" Muczynski. In short: Asad Adeli talks about shooting three MiG-23's with one Phoenix missile and the Hawk missile being implemented on the Tomcat, Hermon "Munster" Cook on his encounter and the shooting down of the two MiG-23 Floggers in the second Gulf of Sidra incident and Larry "Music" Muczynski
  10. Definitely I'm getting an SSD asap. I hope that I'll be able to fly the upcoming Tomcat at decent settings and fps. I just don't know should I go for 250GB or 500GB. It will contain onlly the OS and DCS.
  11. Thanks guys! I think I will go with the 1333MHz option and SSD with CPU overclock.
  12. Yes that's true, but if I chose to go with the 1866Mhz I will sell the 1333Mhz RAM and get 2 x 8GB 1866Mhz DDR3 RAM.
  13. Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me with the dilemma I'm having regrading two options on upgrading my RAM memory. My system specs are as follows: CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 (Supported RAM: 1600 MHz, 1333 MHz, 1066 MHz, 1866 MHz, 2133 MHz DDR3) Memory (RAM): Dual Channel, 8GB DDR3 1333 Mhz Kingston CL9, Voltage: 1.50 V Graphic Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB Storage (HDD): Hitachi 500 GB Display: SAMSUNG 1920 x 1080 pixels @ 24-75 Hz My question is, should I go with dual channel 2 x 8GB DDR3 1866Mhz Kingston CL10 HyperX Fu
