  1. You need to uncheck Fullscreen in the DCS/system options tab.
  2. 2.5 got me back into the A10c again, it has been a couple of years since I flew the Hog but the upgrades to the FLIR drew me back in. I've also taken the Mi8 out on some sightseeing tours of Vegas and Caucasus, I had wanted to fly the Mi8 campaign but the first mission is borked so I made my own entertainment. I feel the frustration of the last two years of DCS development limbo is coming to an end. I've found the waiting nearly impossible but I am hopeful that by the end of this year all the the campaign content will be working as it should and that longstanding bugs will begin to be addressed now that everything is stable. I'm giving up on multi monitor with viewports, it still doesn't seem to work and I'm getting used to using the Cougar MFDs without a display, sometimes things are just not meant to be.:)

  4. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=151478&highlight=FLIR+system&page=2 Chizh mentions it in post #13 in this thread that DCS 2.0 will have an improved FLIR system. The fact that they've said something is being done means that eventually we'll get a result, probably around the time of F-18c's final development would be my guess.
  5. I got the feeling that TM are gonna be doing something F-18 HOTAS wise. DCS F-18C is gonna be huge and the there will be plenty of people willing to to part with cash for a more authentic experience. Can't wait to see what E3 surprises TM might roll out to tie in with the new DCS Flagship module. Why would they refer to it as a collaboration if TM weren't producing a new tie in product?:joystick:
  6. You guys took all my little green squares away. Now my opinions are worthless.:( How will the noobs know that I'm really awsome and cool ;) Joking of course, it's your yard and your rules:)
  7. No. But all the new pits have the capability to become clickable.
  8. Realism or puritanical elitism is what brought us here. Games like Hawx or War Thunder are fun but provide no real challenge. Aircraft like the F35 and the Typhoon have such highly classified systems and capabilities that their inclusion in DCS would be a step backwards. The Devs really would be making it up. Since none of the resident SME's have shown up to say it, even the A10C module has a generic CDU and totally fabricated JDAM release cues. :music_whistling:
  9. Sorry i was being a little sarcastic, DCS WWII and the Normandy map are still being worked on. As to your original problem it is as others have said "it's your problem with your ISP and ED's reasoning for things being as they are is totally rational and justifiable". I take my hat off to you sir; generating five pages out of a problem that was solved on page one
  10. The community has spoken ED. Make this right  Ilya Shevchenko ignored his customers once, well twice actually and for like years at a time.. infact it's not a good example, I'll come back to you when I have something better:pilotfly:
  11. +1 I understand that DCS is in great flux at the moment and the 25T is a free plane but many of us still have a great love for this aircraft after all these years. I hope that the 25T will get the care and attention it sorely needs once DCS 2.5 is released:)
  12. How does the pilot hear the radios with earplugs in? What kind of earplugs, the foam kind or the rubber ones? I'm gonna start wearing them for immersion;)
  13. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34062 Best thing to do is join a squad, declare yourself a rookie and seek instruction there. There is alot more to the art of modern day dogfighting than just turning. P.S Awsome name:thumbup:
  14. Don't forget the pitot heat aswell.:) If you have an altitude obstruction, like a mountain, start your climb as early as possible; losing ETL at altitude can be deadly.
  15. The conditions for getting 100% in any of the Cold War Warrior missions are take off, attack target and RTB. You don't have to destroy everything, just get back to your original takeoff airport. :)
  16. Could you try using a powered usb hub? http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/forum/surfpro-surfdevice/not-enough-usb-controller-resources-error/f2078f35-fcfb-412f-bb03-583e40ca8aed?auth=1 Sounds like it might be this ^:)
  17. What kind of PSU do you have. Maybe you're running out of power? :)
  18. I had the G940 but it's been shelved in favour of a MSFFB2+CHFighter Stick creation. I had a love hate relationship with the G940, it held so much promise  The reason for the centre slack is that DCS world isn't really speaking the correct language to the G940. The MSFFB2 is pretty tight, not perfect but alot better than the G940. The G940 really works nicely if you use it to drive in a driving game because all driving games use the newer FFB protocol which I think is owned/licensed by logitech. Every racing game is expected to have FFB these days so I wonder do racing game devs have to pay to utilise that protocol? So ED tried really hard to make the G940 work in DCS but Logitechs attitude was described as "intransigent".:smartass:
  19. I wonder how she got the gig. Was there auditions? Where countless hours spent scientifically determining the best voice for this application? Couldn't Bobcat Goldthwait have done just as good a job?:)
  20. Probably the same as hardcore racing-sims or tank-sims or sub-sims. Games have always been more popular as they have broad appeal. I'd say the DCS numbers must be growing as I've noticed lots of WWII fans and civvy fans coming in over the last few years. The numbers for this genre will never get to AAA numbers because a sim gives the user a steep learning curve to overcome which is attractive to some but off-putting to most. We know this, part of the appeal is the knowledge that alot of your friends and family wouldn't have the patience or commitment to undertake the learning process. :smartass: DCS is especially difficult to break into as a newb 1) Learn to fly 2) Navigation 3) Weapons 4) How radar works 5) How the RWR works 6) How countermeasures work 7) How missiles work 8) How AAA and SAMS work 9) Beaming, Notching, Cranking, Kinematics and energy loss. 10) When do I use flashing Nav lights. And thats just for a FC aircraft, when you throw in complex systems management and I pity anyone climbing that hill all at once. Hardware requirements play a factor aswell especially in DCS. Having a fairly good PC and then having to buy a fairly decent HOTAS can be a huge barrier to entry in alot of countries. It also really depends on what you consider a flightsim. I would not play it but WarThunder has great numbers and I think there is a flight-simmer in the heart of every WT player. :)
