  1. Dear Friends , I am struggling to progress in this masterpiece . 1. I bought too many modules (that is on me ) 2. I cannot switch between mouse look ( great for fine movements over switches ) and headtracking (just great for every thing else ) I can turn off head tracking with a hotkey , but at that point the mouse will not allow mouse movement to move the camera around the cockpit . With headtracking I can look around (and zoom with a slider on my hotas ) but I cannot stay still enough to easily flick switches . When I watch tutorial vids its obvious that there is a better way to do it . I know I can go into controls , clear the head track controls and get the mouse to work but I really want to change between the two methods on the fly . Alternatively, if anyone can suggest another way I will be hugely grateful , I have an embarrassing total of hours in this thing but am still dangerously rubbish (despite actually flying a fair amount in real life ..not military I hasten to add ) 3. Greedy but ALSO ! Snap views obviously are just that , a quick look , how can you set up (or can you ) custom views of , say, a panel , and then be able to have a cursor to click on the switches ?? Thanks , happy flying and if you ever see a confused looking plane fly into the ground its probably me , Di
  2. Hi Aerolet , can I say I had the same issue and only on DCS , other graphic intense games were fine .In my case I switched my PSU (in fact I took a gamble a went for the same model) as I had got to the end of the updating , installing , clearing cache , verifying etc . I was actually going to basically totally upgrade my PC and I started with the PSU as it was the cheapest component! I was lucky . If you are suffering a power off crash and your PC is not very new it may be worth trying that ! If it crashes to desktop it probably is something else but as the others has said in that case you may be able to get a crash report . Good Luck
  3. Hey, did you ever solve this...I have exact same issue , its fine for checklists but really cumbersome and slow for in flight
  4. Hi , just seen this thread . The engine start tutorial is still stuck at the radio stage , the only plus side is that I have spent so much time searching for the correct radio dial that I have sort of learned the cockpit ! Steam edition if that makes any difference.
  5. Hi everyone , hope you are all well ! Setting up the throttle on the T1600M hotas , everything works perfectly...but backwards !! Throttle input forward decreases thrust and backwards = full throttle , in axis tune I have "slider " ticked . Inversion does not change anything. I had an ancient cheap as chips no name joystick with a tiny throttle slider and that thing works no issues !! :helpsmilie: I know I have months to figure this out but I would love to get up in the air without having things back to front ...and no I dont have the throttle sitting on the desk backwards !! Cheers all , good health .
  6. Thanks ! I will check out the vid and the guide .Appreciate the advice.
  7. This is a good example of the frustration of being a dcs user ! A mixture a brilliant simulation and a amateur game experience. Is there a work around to complete the mission ? We spend thousands on a gaming pc , hundreds on joystick, a lot on modules ( yes in the sale but they all add up !)little things like this are the sort of experience acceptable for a £5 app on my phone! Rant over ! Can anyone suggest a work around...I am stick at that point on the cold start . Thanks people...
  8. Hi All . Bought the Mirage as my first hi fidelity module. I have a major issue with most of the cockpit switches not being " clickable " . With the mouse in " cursor " mode hovering over the buttons/ switches I generally dont get the green symbology which allows the switch to be activated. I have tried zooming in , zooming out , moving pixel by pixel , left, right and middle mouse button. For example hovering around the generator switches I get nothing until I move a little to the right ... then I can switch the emergency compass down ! Woop woop :) a back up compass but no way of performing an engine start . So the 1st training mission is a non starter. If I start in the air the joystick works fine ,it all looks lovely, external views all great but cant do very much without having any button functionality. I appreciate any help, hope it's just a dumb noob thing. Steam edition btw the FC3 planes all fine . Cheers Di
