  1. Figured I'd bump this rather than starting a new topic... I'd also like to have aileron and elevator trim on my two rotary dials/knobs on my x-52 pro's throttle. Since I don't have TrackIR I need at one HAT for slewing my view around, then I have to juggle my other HATs for TMS, CMS, DMS, Coolie, etc. So just using a HAT for trim is not an option, I really don't like using the keyboard commands, and using those roataries would give me precise control over trim. A friend in my gaming community also is looking for the same thing. Is there ANY way to get it to work?
  2. :megalol: I love the level of fidelity that ED puts into their stuff, but I would have to agree that it would be a waste if they did it for FSX. There's already a ton of aftermarket products for FSX, and some of them at extreme levels of fidelity, I fear ED would be lost in the crowd.
  3. Thanks to all those that are uploading on the torrent! I will leave mine running once I get it downloaded. I've get a 6M/bit up connection, so hopefully that will help out! I'm surprised, connected to as many people as I am, still only downloading at 4M/bits a second (with a 12M/bit down connection). Oh well. I'll get it eventually. =D (please note I used m/bits in my post not m/bytes. =p)
  4. That's some great insight Avilator! That would never have occured to me, but now that you mention it, it really seems quite obvious.
  5. Was worth the long wait. I love the cinematography in your videos, it feels like a big studio production, and that just makes it all the more awesome. Loved the music too! Another great video from GA!
  6. Alt+Enter is a Windows hotkey to switch applications between windowed mode, and full screen. Some applications choose to disable it, but I believe that it will work with BS. You can also try Ctrl+Esc, or just hitting the Windows Start key (it has a Windows logo on it) to bring up the Start menu, and you can then switch to TS. Alternatively if you have a Logitech G15 keyboard, in TS3 there is a plugin (go to the plugins menu) to enable a display on the small LCD screen that allows you to switch channels, and administrate the server. There is also a plugin for TS2, but it's not official-I've been using it for years and it's wonderful though. I'm not sure if the G19 has one.
  7. It's not really a graphics engine... it's an everything engine. My understanding is it renders, does physics, literally everything. 'Planetary Rendering Engine.' It's also still in Alpha. Though what they have achieved in two years is pretty cool. The problem with Linux people is that they expect most of their stuff for free... and to be open source. There are some, like me, that are willing to pay for good programs, especially to support the developers and to say, 'hey guys! there's a market here!'. Not really sure about Mac though. I agree though. The scalability of the engine ED uses is amazing (it's an in-house engine, correct?)! What we are seeing in DCS:BS is also 2 years old, hopefully we will see some great improvements to the terrain textures in A10C. And even if we don't, it will be hidden by their grass... hey, maybe that's why they did that! But anywyas, Outerra looks, pardon my language, ****ing amazing. And reading through their dev blogs the stuff that they are doing with it is incredible! I'm really excited for what it is going to bring to the table, and can't wait to get my hands on their demo. I look forward to any games that will be on it.
  8. Wooh! Get to do some reading tonight! =D
  9. This this this. Someone from another thread suggested hover-taxiing around the airfield. That helps a lot. I consider myself a decent pilot for this thing, and that helped me with minute meanuvers at low speeds, so try that out.
  10. I always forget to check simhq. Thanks for the reminder, and good article. Love the screenshots. =O
  11. Haha. It's soo dumb, and so ridiculous that it's hilarious. :megalol: @WindWeapon: That's awesome! @shu77 Nice demotivator. :D
  12. It's not that it doesn't run well on a quad core, it just doesn't utilize all of the cores. It doesn't really matter what core you're running it on afaik. Run it on one that isn't being used by the system constantly? Personally, I went for a quad core because of some of the other games that I play that need it to run smoothly, and it works fine for DCSBS. (Phenom II X4 945 @ 3.0GHz)

    Microsoft Flight

I'll reserve my judgement for later... It could be awesome, it could blow. I'm really confused because they shut down their game studio... So all I can think of are: A) It's being outsourced, which would suck. B) It's for the 360... which would suck even more. Either way, I hope they stick with it being a sim... going the arcade route would just fail so hard.
  14. Not too mention it's lightyears ahead of DX. PLUS it's an open standard. :D
  15. I must say sir, you must have the wrong video card. With my Phenom II X4 945 @ 3.0ghz, 4 GB 1600Mhz DDR3 RAM, and a 5770, I notice an INCREASE in FPS in many games. Flight simulator is one (well that's from DX9 to DX10), Bad Company 2 (I average 30-40 fps in DX9, and 50-60 FPS in DX11), DiRT 2 (Again, average of 40-45 in DX9, 50-60 in DX11)
  16. Glad to hear about the upgrade to DX11, and the shots look great! I'd be even more ecstatic about a switch to OpenGL4, but that'll never happen. :D
  17. Everytime I hear that beast, I just want to scream: AMERICA, F*** YEAH! (from the movie Team America, which is a retarded movie, but has some funny stuff in it)
  18. Glad I'm not crazy. :joystick: Thank you!
  19. Got my X52 yesterday, been screwing around with Profiles, trying to find a good button setup for my style of blackshark play. I do have a question about it. Is there anyway to set it so when I switch to Mode 1 it automatically turns the Master arm On, and then when I switch away it turns Master Arm off? I'm using Mode 1 as my 'combat mode' since it's color is red, and Mode 3 is my 'safe/travel mode' since it's blue. (Red = Danger, blue = safe).
  20. I'm just curious when we can expect to see some updates to the homepage? I'd definitely like to do some reading up on the systems modeling in the A-10C, kind of like what you guys did for the Ka-50. Awhile back I remember someone posted that the Russian version of the website had that page, but the English version didn't yet, so just curious as to when we are going to see a translation of that (because we all know Google Translate sucks). :smartass: Also curious as to when the Producers Note 1/2 will be uploaded to your file server in a proper format. As always, keep up the wonderful work!
  21. I've been using the twist grip on my Logitech Wingman3DPro for awhile, so I should be used to it. I see the pedals as a luxury item. The TIR, I really really want/need. The pedals, are just a nice ammenity. Oh! And I owe you guys pictures of my ew desk. I'll try to remember tomorrow. =) I was thinking about this. Since the X52pro has two HAT switches, are they placed in such a position that I can use one HAT switch for my Shkval, and one for my view, without touching modifier keys? That would make life so much better!
  22. Unless they upgrade the engine, it will be using DX9, like DCSBS. ATI cards had some problems with the menus (all of which have very quick fixes, should you be so unfortunate to encounter them, which would be rare), but otherwise played flawlessly. I'm a major advocate for ATi cards. Anything in the current two generations of cards should run it wonderfully. <Biasedopinion>goatigoatigoati</biasedopinion>
  23. You know... stuff. ;) Haha. I'll take a picture when I get up in the morning.. So, one of my major concerns at the moment, is the Split Throttle. So I understand the real Hog has detens that indicate neutral, etc etc. And the X52 is supposed to sort of have that from what I read, but on the startup, how am I going to just throttle up one engine, and not the other? Just use a key binding?
  24. Great work! Looks wonderful. The music fits perfectly... assuming you wanted to HYPE US UP.. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. lol. But really, great work GA.
  25. Hey guys. Update, I bought the X-52 Pro yesterday from Amazon ($130). After a little more research EVERYTHING I've seen says the TMW will be like $500. So screw that, though it would have been nice to have the split throttle. I was kinda looking at the X65F, but I don't think I would have liked the Force Sensitive deal, plus it was also over my budget. Next deal will be getting the TIR. Will probably end up building something myself until I save up the money. Not sure if I want to spend the money on rudder pedals. They seem like they'd be nice, but I don't really have the room under my desk, and don't plan on building myself a 'pit' anytime soon, so I don't really see the point. They must be nice for those of you that do have 'em though. ;) EDIT: Sorry to the mod that moved it! Didn't even see this section before! But thank you.
