I love the spit, I’ve had it for a year or so and found it very difficult to get it off the ground! Turning round and round in circles but all of that was my poor understanding of controls. I’m really enjoying it now as a break from the fast movers my only disappointment is the lack of training videos I think we deserved a few more than they gave us.

It’s incredible, loved the line up directions, so much more immersive. Have failed every time to land hit the back of the carrier, stall into the water etc etc. so going to love practicing in this Glad I went for the pre launch purchase although didn’t see any discount for already owning the. F18

OMG it's true! oh man that's my F14,F16 and F18 hours out of the window now will DCS make a map that includes Lossiemouth Scotland - my local airfield (4 hours round trip) where I watch the Tiffies practice! Wish they had started with the old but much loved Tornado but who cares - amazing news!!!!

bignewy Thankyou so much for that, it works perfectly now. This forum has helped me out so many times I really appreciate it. Could I also ask if there's a talk through for getting online to fly with other people. In all the time I've been flying the sim and buying new modules and scenery I've never been able to get online and fly with a real person. Do you need the teamspeak hardware and software or is it possible to communicate in some other way once online? Again thanks for helping me out with the antivirus issue ! Ian

Thanks Can anyone talk me through telling MacAfee to ignore the DCS file it is quaranteeing anytime I start the sim? If I disable MacAfee the open beta runs fine and it runs the stable DCS world with the MacAfee turned on Sorry to be such an illiterate on PC matters

Turns out macafee was quarantining files for me after the big update on open beta so looks like I’m back up with both. Need to get macafee to ignore the file. Can I ask while I’m here I have a small SSD and a standard large drive D is it ok to store both stable world and beta world on drive D or would open beta be better installed on the SSD ? Thanks for any advice Ian

Same here latest upload downloaded, open beta wouldn’t run. Have now deleted it and starting to download it again then of course won’t be able to run any of my modules, all missions lost, joystick assignments lost and days for the download to complete. Very very pissed off

Can’t believe people are criticising ED and Wags in particular as soon as the module is released. Look at the quality of scenery we are flying these simulated aircraft in. Who remembers flying in 2 dimensional line drawn simulators and having a blast getting a taste of what the real thing is like. Falcon 3 then falcon 4 took up months of my life and gave me great pleasure. Then along comes DCS and the A10c my god what a transition then the new graphics model gets released. Getting my real world pilots licence was partly due to endless circuits over Bantumi in an A10 not a Cessna 172.it was the real world feel I was getting from a simulator and not paying £200 an hour for the privilege. I’m over the moon I can get my teeth into an F16 which will fly in the DCS world today when I download my pre release copy. Give the guys a break folks, they’ve surpassed themselves getting this module released in the time they’ve had, just like the Hornet is coming along it will only get better. Forget about missions and weapon systems just now let’s just go flying and practising take offs and touch and go landings. I’m a happy customer ED and thanks Wags for the countless academic and enjoyable videos.

Feel a bit stupid, after looking at aspect ration until I had square eyes I’ve finally noticed the resolution of my display was wrong. It’s working perfectly now Very sorry to have wasted people’s time !!!

Hi there I've got this problem now also. Mouse is offset to the left in full screen mode but not windowed screen. My aspect ratio appears to agree with my recommended screen resolution. Can anyone offer any advice? It works ok in the DCS version but not the open Beta. Very true general aviation is NOT cheap! I’ve supported ED over the years buying spitfire, mirage, flanker, f15 and of course suckered into buying the Hawk which still pisses me off. I only fly the A10 and the Hornet and live them. I’ve never flown in multiplayer and would love to but have no idea how to go about that so I’m mainly doing circuits and still find that enjoyable.

Question for those more knowledgeable than me. I fly Cessna 172 real world, fly A10c and F18c in DCS (barely competently). While I have barely scratched the surface of F18 I’m so tempted by the F16 taking me back to my Falcon simulator days. Pros and Cons should I buy the old F14 because it’s gorgeous and out now or should I wait and go for the Viper? Appreciate any thoughts anyone is willing to provide. Thanks guys and girls

I can slew ok but pressing the switch doesnt lock, I have to press enter on keyboard, cant get this if anyone could help?

Can someone help me, I can slew the TDS onto target ok but agree starting in top left is a pain. It then says press to lock but that doesn’t work for me is there a hotas button I’m missing here to avoid pressing enter to lock? Appreciate any help Ian

Thanks so much for taking the time over this. I upgraded dcs to most up to date version before loading the gulf map and f18c. Yes it’s crashing in single player. I can check the motherboard number tomorrow. What’s fxo you mention deleting? I’m sure the shaders are off with the graphics at low.
