  1. My current specs: i5 4690k @ 4.6 Win 8.1 64 8 gig ram 2400 970 nvida 3.5 ram SSD Mission free flight f15c: 1080p ~ 140fps Oculus almost solid 75 very minor drops below, very playable. Mission cold start f15c: 1080p ~ 94-60 varies as I scan around. Oculus solid 37 fps interesting that is ~ half of 75. Not playable. Almost everthing on low or off msaa4x. One thing of interest I get studder if the Oculus is hooked via the HDMI adapter instead of directly to the videocard's HDMI port. I have a 980ti coming tomorrow and will post the differences. R/ Daniel
  2. Been using DK2 with Iracing since implemented, LOVE IT. Could it be better? You bet. I'm using an IONI based DYI wheel, Simexperience transducer setup, Obutto cockpit , and Main pedals. I was gonna buy your pedals but I like the way the Main pedals fastened to the Obutto. R/ Daniel
  3. I'm looking forward to Oculus V1 but at the moment I'm having a blast with DK2. Turn everything to low or off and stay away from the cities. I like to go 1v1 guns only over the desert, absolute blast. Lazy guys/girls won't like because its difficult work. You must twist around hard to keep sight, just like in real life dogfighting, minuse the g forces, sweat burning your eyes, helmet and mask pulling on your head and face. Most people wouldn't like stress of real aerial combat. Same goes for real auto racing. For those I recommend sticking to your flat screen or whatever you do with your thumbs on your iphone. :D:D /R Daniel

  6. Just tried 2.0 with oculus..WOW Just installed version 8 Oculus runtime with 2.0 and was totally blown away by the improved graphics. Hud is completely readable as are the guages in the f15. No judder over unpopulated areas. R/ Daniel
  7. Pre orders for Oculus in 48 hours https://www.oculus.com/en-us/ I think I'll buy 4 and sell the other 3 at a profit. R/ Daniel
  8. Awesome. So I guess Titan X is calling me. R/
  9. Rift doesn't currently work on DCS with AMD cards.
  10. I deleted all of DCS, Then reinstalled with the latest version of DCS. Loaded the addons and everything worked as expected.
  11. I'm in the same boat, no su27, plus I can't get mig21.
  12. I have really been enjoying using Oculus with FC3 and am looking forward to better resolution. One of the things about Oculus is its hard to do FC3 demos that demonstrate the Rift in action. Its hard to even to put the rift on someone else for demonstration purposes because I can't see what the other person is seeing. Well I was doing some formation flying in the F15 with the rift and was amazed at the feeling of immersion and wished I could share to help promote Eagle Dynamics and Oculus. After I exited the mission I attempted to save it as a demo, its hard to do but it can be done. I then ran the replay on the flat screen and was unimpressed, then wondered what the replay would look like under the oculus. It was very disorienting but I pushed the 5 key on the number pad to recenter the view. Nirvana I now had head tracking but the aircraft was flying the demo, just like flying in the front seat of a two seat aircraft for a demo ride.
  13. He's got a localizer signal its just not "off the wall". Regards, Danny
  14. I think the best online multiplayer sim is AcesHigh. The graphics are somewhat dated but the flight and balistics modeling are excellent. Plus the cockpits are 6dof. Works good with multi monitors. http://www.hitechcreations.com/ Free download and 2 weeks free online no strings. Regards
  15. There are a few quick cockpit shots in this cool video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZtkDFraCMs&feature=related
  16. I'm not familiar with that mission but I'll take a guess. 270 for 50 probably means fly heading 270 and decend or climb to 5000' using baro alt. You alway use baro altitude , radar altitude is normally used for specific approches or maby some military low level stuff. You just need to have the correct altimeter setting. Approach will usually give that to you or you get it from atis. The proper technique is to be vectored to the airfield by approach then they will ask if you have the field in sight. If you say yes then they will clear you for a "visual approach" which means you are cleared to manuver as you see fit to set your aircraft up to land. Then when on final you will change over to tower who will clear you to land. The check gear down call is a U.S military technique only to verify that your gear is down.
  17. No I haven't tried to export the MFD's. I can see and operate them at the current zoom per the picture, that may not be the case with a lower res or smaller monitor. Occasionally when trying to pick out a target I want to get a little closer to the MFD so I configured TrackIR with a slight Z axis "zoom". I'm still tweeking TrackIR to find what works best.
  18. The 3 center monitors I got off Ebay. Two are Gateway 2401's and the other is a Samsung 2493hm. The outside monitors are Dell U2410's. I took the plastic outer covers off the three center monitors for a thinner bezel, I decided not to do that on the Dells since they are $500.00 each.
  19. Not at all because with TrackIR you just move your head a little to see or place the mouse.

  22. Wow!! Just you and I are running Warthog in a 5x1P setup. I can't believe people are still running flight sims on a single screen. I'm currently running 5 24" 1200x1900 monitors for a total resolution of 6392x1920. Combine that with Track IR and the immersion is stunning. I'm not stating this to impress I'm trying to inform serious flight simmers. It's not that expensive to get a 5 screen setup today. An ATI eyefinity 6 card is $270.00 and 22" screens can be had for less than $150.00 apiece or used off EBay for less. I'll never go back to single screen.
