  1. Hi everyone Can you please inform me about this case : I am alone off my side in the sky (no awacs, no wingman, no other aircraft from my coalition...) and on my radar I have bandits. While they are present on the SA, they are not present in the HMD.The MIDS, they are set at the correct distance and the REJs are also checked. I'm not questioning the legitimacy or otherwise of this representation, I just want to know if it works as it's supposed to. For the case that concerns us, the conditions for the appearance of a target under TUC, L&S etc. are not the subject, we are just mentioning the fact that the HMD didn't offer a strictly on-board scan representation on bandit contacts. (In the .Trk the introduction then the withdrawal of an Awacs highlights the fact that the bandits are only present in the HMD on condition of going through a third party) Thanks in advance HMD.trk
  2. Is it possible please to update the tag "cannot reproduce, missing track file": there is now a track file and I think that to "reproduce" all you need is to own the simulator.
  3. A track that illustrates the subject of my first question: is this how the HMD works? (the introduction then the withdrawal of an Awacs highlights the fact that the bandits are only present in the HMD on condition of going through a third party) HMD.trk
  4. Thank you all very much for your replies. As far as the MIDS are concerned, yes, they are set to the correct distance and the REJs are also checked. As for the conditions for the appearance of a target under TUC, L&S etc, I am well aware of them. I was just surprised that the HMD didn't offer a strictly on-board scan representation on bandit contacts.

  6. Hello everyone, I have just realised, to my great regret, that the "Hornet Vids" channel has disappeared from youtube. This channel offered some flight videos extremely rich in lessons because they were not edited. By any chance, could some people have saved these videos and made them available (if this is legal, of course)? At the moment I've found a duplicate of just one of the videos (the one of the pilot walking towards his plane on board the aircraft carrier). Thank you for your feedback
  7. Hello, I'm experiencing an issue with the F/A-18's air-to-ground radar since the last update : If I do a TDC depress TDC on a target (in MAP mode, for example), instead of creating a designation point on the radar, this action is causing my current navigation point to become the target. Did I miss something, or is this a new bug ? Whether in solo or multiplayer, on different missions... the result is the same.
  8. Seen and tested, it works very well. Thank you very much
  9. OK thank you for this explanation
  10. This is also what I imagined ... but in fact it is not the case. So we have a PPLI which has the same properties as a donor? (in the test: my F/A-18 with the radar off, an F-16 without status, no awacs, an IL-76 as target)
  11. Hello, With the introduction of Donor and Team Member management from the aircraft or the mission editor I'm a bit confused. On the screenshot, the 3 planes are F-16s whose status has been set via the ME. From left to right: Donor, Team member and nothing. My radar is off and there are no Awacs. I guess the F-16 on the right is participating in Liaison16 by default (PPLI?) Apart from the Team member, who informs me of his radar activity via the TXDSG system, the three fighters give me strictly the same information, such as their on-board fuel... What distinguishes this F-16 from the donor?

    JHMCS logic

This is also what it seems to me, I find this logic bizarre! if I replace the awacs with a fighter the result is the same (except that the hunter only gives me one contact while the targets are seven...) Thank you for your answer

    JHMCS logic

To get back to the original question, here's a trk to illustrate. HMD range is set to max, HUD is off for better visibility, targets appear in front (via trigger) and are detected by my radar ... but not visible in the HMD. An Awacs spawn (via trigger)... the contacts appear in the HMD... the Awacs is removed... the contacts disappear from the HMD (opperation repeated once with the same result)... ? is this behavior consistent, or is it a bug? JHMCS logic

thank you for your reply. Yes, I am aware of this setting, but it seems that the HAFU symbols of enemy contacts only detected by our radar, (apart from any other allied presence) are not present in the HMD.

    JHMCS logic

Hi, Could you please help me clarify a few points about the HMD and its usage. First of all I notice that if I am alone in the sky (no awacs, no other friendly plane...) the HMD does not display the targets spotted by my own radar (even though they are present on the SA page), is this correct? But if, via the SA page, I do a TUC then the target appears in the HMD ! I don't really understand the logic. On the other hand I find contradictory sources regarding the priority ranking of the MIDS JHMS PRIORITY page: is the highest priority at the bottom of the list (position 5) or at the top of the list (position 1)?
  16. Thanks a lot Flappie, it'll be cool to see this feature come back
  17. In the past, it was possible to have AI helicopters retrieve loads from a carrier (subject to the ship's speed: no more than 5 knots). Then, after an update(this year, I can't remember exactly which one), the behaviour changed: as soon as the sling deployed by the AI helicopter 'caught' the load, it began to slide across the deck. But the helicopter still ended up lifting it and taking off with it. From the 2.9, the helicopter approaches the load and stops a few metres away, never to move again. Can we expect a return to the ability of IA helicopters to pick up loads from the deck of boats?
  18. No, it's a test mission (the .trk is attached to my initial question...) where there's just me and an S-350 system. Once in the terrain there is no more RWR return until the missile impacts.
  19. Thank you very much for taking the time to answer me, I understand better now. But I still ask myself a question: when the missile activates its radar, shouldn't I have a return via the RWR (like what happens with an AIM-120 when it passes Pitbull)?
  20. Hello, CH Mod user and like everyone else I thank him warmly for the work he does for us. I have a small question. I use his S-350 system and it works beyond my understanding of SAM systems: on a 9M96D missile firing, using terrain masking is of no help. While the RWR on my F-18 confirms that the S-350 is no longer following me on the radar, the missile that was initially launched continues to guide itself towards me and ends up hitting me (without my RWR detecting any radar activity from the missile). What guidance modes are used to achieve this result? Thank you S-350.trk

    Small crosses

Oh! OK thank you very much for this answer

    Small crosses

Good morning, On the UFC, just above the A/P button there is a very small cross. Small cross found on quite a few panels in the cockpit. Anyone have an idea what this means? Thanks in advance
