  1. where do you get the Info, that it will be Tranche 1? The only official statement says, they try to make ist as modern as possible, without doing classified stuff.
  2. Same plane? Just because they share some systems and weapons doesn‘t make them the same plane. And if you really think that, then why would you even bother buying the Viper and being in this subforum, since you can have the „same“ plane in a later stage of development already?
  3. The F18 has it implemented, you can see your current G-Limit on the FCS Page
  4. The added benefit would be for the JSOW A. It‘s bomblets get thrown out into the direction of the Jsows flightpath. Since the impact zone of the bomblets has not the same length and width, it is important to have a certain flight direction of the jsow, if you have to attack targets that are lined up in a row. If the targets are lined up with a 90degree offset to your flightpath, you have to fly around the target to attack them properly. By that you have to possibly fly too deep into enemy territory, or expose yourself to aa. Same goes for jdams and jsows of you have to attack a target between buildings, or mountains For that we could either use a the flight direction, or a top down attack.
  5. Wags stated in the Comments of the Bombing video, that 3 per station will be possible
  6. I launched E and F Mavs yesterday, so it probably isn´t a bug. Mav E: -AG Mode -Push the Mav button in the stores page -Push it again to get into the Laser Mav Format page -Enter the correct laser code -Select the DDI with you Sensor Select Switch (selected screen has a Diamond on the top right corner) -Put you nose in the aproximate direction of the target -Master Arm On -Press the cage uncage button -Mav should lock the target and LKD will be shown in the Hud Mav F: -AG Mode on -Push the MAV button in the Stores Page -Push it again to get into the seeker head page -Wait for the 3 min cool down timer to end -Select the DDI with the Sensor Control Switch -Master Arm On -Press and Hold the TDC Depress and now you can slew the seekerhead with your TDC, let the TDC Depress go to lock the target in you crosshair (if you don´t have the Realistic TDC slew option selected in your options menu, you can slew it after selecting the DDI without the TDC depress and after one second of no TDC inputs, it will lock onto your target) -Mav is now locked an ready to fire
  7. I started DCS with the Hornet Release and was flying it exclusively since then, so I only know the Probe and Droge system. A couple weeks ago I started flying the F15c and one of the first things I did, was trying out the Boom refueling system. In my experience it is really easy to learn, since the lights on the tanker show you exactly where you are supposed to be. Its basically an easier version of formation flying, since you not only see the other plane, but you have another visual cue that aids you in the process.
  8. If the tanks are stationary, all guided munitions that can be carried on double racks. Right now that would be 8x GBU-12 (500 Pound), 8x GBU-38 (500 Pound), or 8x JSOW C (1000 Pound) Later on we will get the GBU-32, which is 1000 Pounds and can be carried on the BRU-55 double rack aswell. If the target is moving, there is only GBU-12 left.
  9. You are most likely in the stable branch. You have to be in Open Beta to get the newest stuff like the Pod, or Harpoons

    IRIS-T

I wouldn´t say they are more or less equal. The Lock on After Launch and thanks to that, shooting at targets that are behind the plane give the IRIS-T more capabilities than the AIM-9X. Adding to that the IRIS-T is faster, has more range and a better seeker.
  11. I have a question about TOT aswell. How can you disable the TOT symbology in the HUD after passing the selected waypoint? After passing it, the HUD stil shows the carret under the airspeed and in the HSI it shows me a negative speed to get there. My setup for the waypoint was only the time i want to be there, I didn´t type in the groundspeed.
  12. I think you are mixing up two buttons/switches right now. You said you use the dispense button without aft or fwd. This is indeed correct, since there is no other way to use the dispense button, because aft and fwd are with the dispense SWITCH not BUTTON. They are on two different parts of the cockpit. The thing you are using is the dispense button, that is loated on the left wall of the cockpit (big red button with dips written on it). It is a last resort panic button you only use when shit really hits the fan and you are not set up for using your manual programms (which you normaly set up before entering a hostile zone). So you are NOT supposed to use that button at all. The thing you are supposed to use is the dispense switch on your throttle. With that you use the manual programms you can set up in the EW-page. If you want that program that just drops 1 chaff and 1 flair at the same time, you can set up prog 1 for that and use dispense switch aft to use it. If the dispense button dropped only one flair and on chaff per press before one of the last patches, it was a bug, because it should dropp all flair and 40 chaff (in the basic cm loadout of 60 chaff and 30 flair).
  13. Like mu110 said, the cage/uncage button. But you have to make sure MasterArm is on first.
  14. I don‘t understand your problem. Like I told you, you have to bind the dispense switch fwd and the dispense switch aft. Aft triggers the selected manual programm and fwd the previous programm (prog 5, if you have selected prog 1). Ale 47 work as intended, what makes you think it doesn‘t? It fires the selected program till it is finished and how you selected your program to be. If you want to fire one flare and one chaff at a time, there is nothing that hinders you to set your program up that way. If you want one flair for aft and one chaff for fwd you can set your programs up for that aswell. Let me walk you through the process to get one program for one chaff and flair per button press: -switch on your ale47 and dispenser -go to the EW page on your DDI -press the pushbutton with ale47 under it (you have to be in the air to do so) -after ale47 is boxed, press the mode pushbutton, till „man 1“ is shown under ale 47 -press ARM to get into the programms -now you can see that prog one has 1 chaff and 1 flair and repeats 10 times -press the rpt button and then the down arrow till rpt is 1 aswell -press save to save the programm -if you want to set up different programms you can switch through them by the step button (press save before step) -now you can press return to get back to the EW page
  15. Thanks for the Info. I´ve watched Wags´videos about the pod, but had already forgotten the long press of the FOV Button^^
  16. The two buttons you have to bind are the dispense switch - aft(flare)/center(off) and dispense switch - forward(chaff)/center(off). The chaff and flare in the brackets tell you what will be dropped by which button in bypass setting. The aft will controll the selected manual programm (for example 1) and the fwd will controll the programm in front (5 if you have selected 1, 1 if you have selected 2...)
  17. I use the x52 aswell and I can press the pickle button, while holding the trigger to lase. I have not changed anything on those two buttons in the software of the Hotas, so it should be possible if you haven´t changed anything.

    Targeting pod

The TPOD wouldn´t be of much use on release, since all the guided Weapons, that will benefit of it, won´t come at early access release either. The point the TPOD should come to the F16 is, when either LGBs, JDAMs, or JSOWs get implemented. All other functions of the Pod are not that big of a use, that would justify diverting work hours to it in a time, where core functions of the plain have to be fleshed out.
  19. Do you use the Dispense Button to drop your countermeasures?
  20. Don´t think the Belgian Air Force uses the Block 50s, but the F18 has Skins from planes that are not Lot20s aswell, so i think it should be okay
  21. Yes the current build supports manual countermeasures. The dispense button is not the one on the Hotas, it is the one on the left wall of the cockpit. The two buttons you have to bind are the dispense switch - aft(flare)/center(off) and dispense switch - forward(chaff)/center(off). The chaff and flare in the brackets tell you what will be dropped by which button in bypass setting. The aft will controll the selected manual programm (for example 1) and the fwd will controll the programm in front (5 if you have selected 1, 1 if you have selected 2...) If your 1 programm is set up for 1 flair, 0 chaff, 5 repeat and 0,5 intervall, pressing the dispense switch aft once, will drop 5 flairs with 0,5 sec interval between them.
  22. Today I´ve tried to replicate this problem. My procedure was as followed: 1. Start with 2x MavF and 4x MK83 2. Select the MavF and let the seeker cool down 3. Switch to MK83, Sensor Control Switch FWD, place the marker on a target and drop in Auto Mode 4. Switch to MavF, seeker moves to the marker After that i tried the cage/uncage button and by that I could switch between the marker and the center position (might take 1-2 seconds til the seeker starts to slew) By pressing the Undesignate Button i could delete the marker and the seeker moved back to center. Are you on Stable, or Open Beta? (Im on OB Version 2.5.5.33552) Maybe we play on different versions and that´s the reason I can´t replicate the problem.
  23. Have you tried to select the HUD again with the Sensor Control Switch FWD and then press the Undesignate button? I was flying with the same type of loadout yesterday and after dropping my GBU-12s with Manual Designation and Auto Mode, I had no problem with the Mav F.
