  1. Just note that pimax 8kx does not have better clarity than g2. Yes, it has higher resolution but all these pixels are also spread over much bigger fov.
  2. Pimax 8kx is hit o miss. It just does not work for some face shapes. So if you can try before you buy, or at least buy from amazon
  3. I had 3080 prior to 6900xt, but it was almost 8 months ago so maybe my experience would be different today with all drivers updates. But back in December 2020 situation was like this: With 6900xt I was getting more FPS than 3080, but at the same time frame times with 3080 were more consistent. Also motion smoothing (index) and motion reprojection (g2) was pretty much unusable on 6900xt. Looking back for VR I'd keep my 3080. If'd by shoping for GPU today it would be 3080 ti
  4. if money is no object you could by Valve and tell them to design new hdm for you
  5. Facebook told that they will support oculus vr api in existing games forever.
  6. this "changes everything" stuff is getting out of hands
  7. Windows only compresses memory which was not used for a long long time. It does that instead of moving it to page file. It also uses very fast compression that barely has any impact on CPU.
  8. It was not even addressed by AMD devs. Nothing changed. Motion Reprojection still introduces terrible artifacts.
  9. SteamVR/Video Settings/Application Specific settings. If you set Throttling behavior to Auto and your PC can't get reliable 90 (or 120 in this case) FPS gets halved. And since motion smoothing is disabled you get 60 fps without motion smoothing too Long story short if you want to benchmark dcs in VR set Throttling behaviour to Fixed max fps disabling mothing smoothing at the same time
  10. 1) Sets throttling to Auto 2) Wonders why fps are locked at 60fps
  11. HAGS option is not even available in settings with latest version of AMD drivers
  12. I can confirm. Motion reprojection just sucks on AMD GPUs. Both Oculus' and Valve implementation of it. It happens in all games. But this is something that can be fixed in drivers. So there is hope.
  13. Did you remove screen protectors that come with brand new g2? Also post screenshots of your steamvr setting both global and per-application for DCS. Also PD settings in DCS and Full/Half resolution settings in WMR settings. Blurred picture means under sampling. As simple as that.
  14. Removing HOTAS? Yea yea, that's exactly what we want. So that we could finally get rid of vkb/virpil setups we spent 1000$ on.
  15. I have 6900xt, but it has same problem. Reprojection is basically unusable. Both DCS and Elite Dangerous look like garbage when reprojection kicks in
  16. 30 fps can be locked in SteamVR for Index and in Oculus Tray Tool for RiftS/Quest2.
  17. I didn't own AMD card in years, so no idea if it is general problem. All modern implementations of reprojection (Oculus/Valve/WMR) rely on GPU drivers to predict how objects move. So its most definitely drivers problem. Let's hope AMD will fix it soon.
  18. On Index you might even try running with fixed throttling settings it 30 fps. With that I am able to run 150% with 4xMSAA which completely removes damn jaggies which I hate so much
  19. This reprojection ghosting is definitely something inside DCS engine. Oculus, SteamVR and WMR all have this ghosting. Even settings supersampling to super lower value, so low that frametime is about 2ms, and forcing motion reprojection results in ghosting. So it's definitely not CPU problem. Not to say that other games don't have that.
  20. Yes, I am using VR preset just for these tests. Overall 6900XT is a beast. For VR, though, its more or less equal to 3080. 3090 is on another level though. But 3090 is 2k euro GPU these days, while 6900XT is around 1400.
