  1. Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. The voice actors were awesome, and many thanks to them for their work. You're the first to report issues with the volume of the voices, but there definitely could be others. Some lines were recorded quieter, and I may have just not boosted them up enough. If there is a specific section or person with quiet lines, let me know and I can take a look. Thanks for the recommendation!
  2. Tried it again today on the most recent build (2.9.1.48335) and it worked. I don't know what was different, maybe nothing, but it worked. The joys of infantry in DCS. I'm on MT. Thanks for the help, and for a fun campaign! (2nd time playing through it.)
  3. Updated the first mission to fix that trigger. I forgot to add the landing part of the trigger, so when you just flew over them (without landing) it fired. I added the landing part of it... Awesome, glad you finished it and like it! If you have any questions on how the missions work, or ideas on how to make the missions smoother, please let me know. I don't know why they don't have some animated soldiers in the back of the helo. I know it's been requested since the Huey launched. Hopefully they'll get to it, because it would add a lot to the atmosphere.
  4. Thanks for the report. Probably a backup trigger (in case the game didn't recognize that the group were loaded on the helicopter) that fired incorrectly. I'll take a look when I get some time. And thanks for the update on the 2nd mission. I'm pretty sure I have some grey hairs just from the infantry.
  5. Thanks for the kind words; glad you're enjoying it so far. And you nailed the inspiration for the jeep shot.
  6. Good afternoon everyone, Just wanted to let everyone know about a new mini-campaign for the best helicopter in DCS. I'm creating this thread for any feedback, bug reports, etc. because I don't get notified on new Comments in the User Files. The summary: In April of 2022, a Brazilian journalist has been kidnapped near the Ba'ath Dam. You've been hired by a Private Military Company to provide helicopter support and transport to help locate and rescue the journalist. The campaign has full voiceovers with kneeboard pages. It's not meant to be a difficult campaign. As long as you can start up, take off, and land the Huey in FARP-sized landing areas, it will be fine. The difficulty ramps up through the 4 missions, however. If you're interested, here's a link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3334386/ Thanks, and fly safe!
  7. Just ran into this issue with the 2.9.0.47168 build. Venom said they'd go, and they spawned, but then didn't move. I found them with the ATFLIR and they weren't moving; some were kneeling and others were lying down. It looks like they were reacting to a threat and ignoring any move orders. I've seen the same thing in some of the small missions I create. I attached a Tacview file where one can see Venom spawn and then stop moving. They never fired, or were fired on. I circled for a bit to see if they'd get unstuck, but that never happened. Tacview-20231113-204549-DCS-R1 M09.zip.acmi
  8. Check my first response for the keybind. I'd also check your keybind list to be sure it's mapped to the same thing as mine. Sorry, I'm on my phone or I'd give a more in depth reply.
  9. No, the tanker will respond within 5 seconds or so with his altitude and speed. Are you tuned to the correct radio frequency? It should be 225.000. If you selected the F-14A refueling mission, then it's channel 1 on the pilot's radio. If you selected the F-14B mission, you'll have to manually tune it. With Easy Communications turned off, you will need to be on the correct frequency and on the correct radio before using the Communications menu. What frequency are you using?
  10. If you selected F-14B mission, you need to manually tune to 225.000. It looks like neither the pilot nor the RIO have that as a preset frequency. If you select the AAR mission with the F-14A, then the pilot's radio is tuned to 225.000 on channel 1 at mission start. Since you're saying the option is greyed out, I'm assuming you're using Easy Communications, which apparently is not enabled for this mission. If you want to learn the non-easy way to communicate, page 294 in the manual will give you a run down on the pilot's radio. You'll need to map the Mic Button UHF1 (ARC-159) to something on your HOTAS, or use the default keybind of "Right Alt + \" to open up the Communications Menu with the pilot's radio once it's on the correct frequency. The other option is to go into your Settings where Easy Communications is set (under Gameplay), and enable the "Force options for all missions and campaigns" checkbox. That might not be the exact name, but it's something similar. I've never used it, but that should force all your settings onto the AAR mission and enable Easy Communications.
  11. Greetings all, I've come across a bug in the Mission Editor that deletes the text/subtitle output of the Transmit Message command during the auto backup process. It appears similar to the bug listed in this thread back in December: That bug occurred when manually saving, but this one only occurs when the automatic backup process fires. Apologies if it's already been posted, but I haven't seen it despite searching. The weird thing is that the backup save is fine, but the current mission in the ME after the save is missing all the texts. In other words, if you notice the problem and open the most recent backup, your mission is fine. The first time the auto-backup triggers, the subtitles are replaced with "DictKey_subtitle_###". The 2nd time the auto backup triggers, it wipes the text altogether. I've attached some before and after screenshots of the auto-backup. The first picture is before the backup kicks off. The 2nd pic is after 1 auto-backup. And the third pic is after 2 auto-backups. I'm on the latest version, 2.7.10.19473. I've shut off the automatic backup process altogether because of this, which is a shame, because that process has saved my bacon a few times. Thanks, Spike
  12. 2.7 really messed up a lot of things. I fixed Mission 6 by adding a new trigger for them to stay put until your nose is pointed to between 260-300 degrees. The carrier is headed around 280 degrees, so it should trigger when you pull out and line up for the catapult. I attached the updated mission here because I pulled the campaign from the User Downloads for several reasons (2.7 breaking a lot of stuff being one of them). In the future, if anything weird like this happens with the wingmen or other flights, you should be able to fly the mission normally. Whenever you get to the action, your Results should be 50, which means you can hit the End Mission button. When you continue the campaign, it should load the Continued version of it, usually around the 1st waypoint of the mission. All the wingmen and other flights should be correctly placed. Thanks! 13. Some great pics in this thread; keep them coming! I took some for my desktop's wallpaper rotation. Here's one I liked from one of the new missions I'm creating, with a skin from lee1hy.
  14. Left CTRL+Z will speed up time, and you can hit it multiple times to increase the speed. Left Shift+Z will set the time compression back to normal. It's not a perfect solution, but it makes waiting for the plane to startup, the INS to align, and the flight out to the mission area more tolerable. This is assuming you have some sort of autopilot to keep you in the air while you compress time.
  15. That's hilarious. He's smarter than I thought. I haven't tried getting shot down and losing electricity, but I couldn't hear him when I turned down the volume. :) That's awesome, thanks! Do you know if it's planned soonTM or more at the bottom of the wishlist?
  16. Really? I tested it and I couldn't hear him at all with the ICS volume turned down. I even manually turned it down while he was talking and he went silent mid-sentence. I'll have to test some more.
  17. In case anyone else is interested: a brute force method I found is the X:Cockpit Preform Clickable Action (2, 3381, -1). That will lower the ICS volume knob by one notch. It takes about 40 such actions to set it from the default setting to muted. If anyone knows of a .lua command to silence Jester through the AI Wheel, I'd much prefer that cleaner way.
  18. Good evening all, I was wondering if there's a way to silence Jester through basic scripting (not MIST or MOOSE) for mission makers. Although I love Jester, there are sometimes when (as a mission designer) I'd like him to be quiet. Specifically, when intercepting a bogey when the ROE is Weapons Hold. It kind of breaks the vibe when you're supposed to intercept and escort, and Jester is yelling to get on his six and do some of that pilot stuff. Making the plane BlueFor means the AWACS won't call it out. I could deactivate the RedFor bogey when in a certain radius, and activate a BlueFor, but then Jester calls out Friendly. He's just too helpful sometimes. I did some searching through the forums and on Google, and couldn't find anything about it, so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks everyone. Happy flying!
  19. From what I've read, that's a DCS/ED issue. Any use of the Transmit Message in the Mission Editor breaks it. I can't really change all the Radio transmissions to simple Messages without a massive rework. Sorry.
  20. It will definitely have the Save feature. I like A2G missions, too, which is weird since I love the Tomcat. Anyone want to volunteer for voice overs for the campaign? I'm needing some wingmen voices (including the lovable GasCan). Shoot me a PM if interested.
  21. Thanks, Buzzline! In addition to voice overs, there will be 5 new missions, plus some new dialogue in the older missions, new kneeboard images, new scripts, tweaks, etc. Hopefully a good improvement on the original. Regarding friendly AI in air to air, I've found that ordering them in first can help. With their uncanny knowledge of when and where a missile is fired, they're better at surviving while I pick off the engaged enemy. Edit: And thanks Castor Troy!
  22. In the menu at the top: Customize -> Map Options
  23. Agreed. Good job on the improvements, and thanks for the hard work.
  24. Might already be covered in one of the videos you watched, but I can't refuel unless my wing sweep is in Bombing mode. My joystick has no deadzone, but a 15-20 curve (forget how much exactly). Another trick that I like is to trim the plane so that I need to slightly pull back on it to maintain altitude. This forces me to always make small adjustments, instead of relaxing too much and failing to anticipate where the plane is going. It also makes small adjustments easier, because you're already putting force on the stick.
  25. I'm pretty sure 2.7 will break every mission. I read that 2.7 missions won't work with previous versions, so I'm assuming there will be serious issues with pre-2.7 missions in 2.7. I don't even have OB installed at the moment, so I don't know when I'll be able to get to testing all the missions.
