Will the deck crew be collidable?
Sergeant_Hamlet replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: Supercarrier
My hope is, if you run over a crew member they emit a "Hey, what are you doing?" But otherwise nothing happens. -

Will the pay-carrier be able to change its heading and speed without the need for extra scripts to create realistic conditions on deck for departure/recovery ops? I imagine this is not going to be a day-one feature, but is any function like this planned at all for the future?

I see it now. Thank you kindly, good sir.

In the last portion of Wags's video, the donor-only tracks appear as a whole HAFU symbol. If those contacts are not currently detected by the ownship, shouldn't they only appear as the lower-half of the HAFU? Or is there something I don't understand about how those files work in TWS? Thanks

The important part of landing is descending along a stable -3 degree glide slope while holding the correct nose-up attitude so that the main gear touch without striking the tail. You will not find the exact speed required to hold this attitude in the manual because it changes depending on how much the aircraft weighs, due to fuel load, external stores and so forth. If you are holding the 5 degrees nose up while descending at -3 degrees, your AOA will be around 8 degrees. Whatever speed you need to travel to achieve this is the correct landing speed.

December should be a great month for the Hornet.
Sergeant_Hamlet replied to nacy's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
WOPR's point is that no we have no official news which indicates that any tgp improvements will be included in the update on the 18th. As far as we know, TWS and its sub modes are all that are being added, so don't be angry if tgp stuff isn't included. -
Best guess is the 18th. Source: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4129745&postcount=178

2021 (and earlier) DCS Newsletter Discussion Thread
Sergeant_Hamlet replied to NineLine's topic in DCS 2.9
So, if the elevators are animated, dos that mean the hanger deck is modeled? -
What is the advantage of using TOO mode rather than SP mode for the HARM? Does it affect the missile's performance in any way, or is it just a different method of target acquisition? Thanks

Thank you for separating the external sounds volume
Sergeant_Hamlet replied to bkthunder's topic in DCS 2.9
No key command. The "world volume" slider in the audio options now just affects external views. -
Slightly change JHMCS symbology position
Sergeant_Hamlet replied to Sergeant_Hamlet's topic in Wish List
I realize that the problem is caused by the symbology being centered in my view, which is why my request was that the symbology's position be shifted. -
Could we possibly get the JHMCS symbology cluster moved up on the screen so it aligns more with the rule of thirds? The current neutral head position puts the symbols right in the space between the bottom of the hud and the top of the front dash, so you have to crane your head back slightly to avoid having the duplicated symbols constantly in front of you. I realize the HMCS interfaces with how the sensors work, so this request is probably not as easy to fulfill as it sounds, but would you guys consider it please?

Do you mostly play Single player or Multiplayer?
Sergeant_Hamlet replied to Frag's topic in Chit-Chat
This poll needs two additional options: "Some singleplayer but mostly multiplayer" and "Some multiplayer but mostly singleplayer" -
Respectfully I would like to disagree. If the problem behavior can't be simulated based on its actual cause, then I would rather it be left out than given a band-aid solution. A known fault is something you can take into account and correct for. A randomized algorithm is something you'll have to guess about and fight against.

Heatblur Forrestal's and Intruders
Sergeant_Hamlet replied to Callsign's topic in Heatblur Simulations
That's not completely true. This question came up about a month ago, and the answer from heatblur was basically that once the module launched, development focus was placed on bug squashing. The public release revealed more bugs than the team thought there were at first, and new ones keep popping up because of changes to the base game, so heatblur is still kind of playing catchup and their roadmap's timeline has been pushed back somewhat. Once they have gotten caught up with bugs and flight model tweaks, focus will shift to other content. -
I'd be fine with bad TTS as long as it works.

Please, oh please, add turning callouts for the tankers. “Coming left.” “Coming right.” “Level out.”
