  1. please tell me this ain´t dead
  2. I´m in the same boat. Nothing has worked. The only difference with my specs is I have a RTX 2060
  3. Has it been included in the OB? I haven´t seen it in the patch notes.
  4. What is the source of this? Could you redirect me in DM if needed?
  5. i´M both for the F-105 to help complete the Vietnam war scenario and the F-84E/F/G to help the Korean war. Maybe more biased towards the F-84 as with it, along with the F86,mig 15, corsair, skyraider, la-7( close to la-9) we would have a pretty complete theatre.
  6. I believe you have fooled around with this mod, so you can tell me what happens when you attack a combat box of B-29s, even when its on "passive defence". That´s right, its a nicely made model but they don´t behave like b-29s.
  7. When is this going to be fixed? Are we going to wait another 4 years like the aileron lock-up bug for the F86?
  8. The group that I´m part of just hosted Korea themed mission. We used A20s but they just don´t make the cut. A b-29 that isn´t locked by the asset pack would get a lot more ppl in the Forgotten war theatre and add substantially to the eco-system. Please.
  9. My vote would be Korea Vietnam Sinai Peninsula, including parts of the nile delta, Cairo and southern israel ( Six day war, war of attrition, Yom kippur...)
  10. What is this talk about the F4E spanking the mig 23 ML in WVR? There is some huge misconceptions about the reality of the ML's capabilities. The Mig had better turning capability, depending on which wing sweep was used. The evaluation testing in cope peg etc.. were done at the recommended 45º angle. At the 16º sweep and below a certain speed, the mig spanks the F4. Furthermore, the testing was made on the previous unreliable versions, M, MS etc. The big caveat to all of this is how fast the wings could switch from one sweep angle to another and how ergonomical it would be in a dogfight scenario (which I don´t know) I suggest looking at this comparative report : Compared Air Combat Performances Mig-23ML versus F-4E by Topolo. Not 100% accurate but in the ball park. It´s a treat EDIT : I just saw G.J.S. post on his real life experience. Interesting insight on how vis and handling hindered the on paper performance potential of the ML
  11. Absolutely right. The DCS sabre is a version that was in towards the very end or after the war. Though, performance wise, it should be near identical to the F-1,F86 F-5 etcc blocks that were. Our mig is a mid 1952 series. There were a few improvements that came after. The automatic speedbrake ( though i think i recall it being fielded earlier but it would only deploy below 5000m, not sure), the multichannel radio akin to the mig 19 set, and finally the sirena warning receiver. In all honesty, the mig15 bis mostly fought F86Es even into 1953. The only improvement upto 1952 that I recall on the mig since it was introduced en masse by summer 1951 was the enlarged speedbrake. The F variant became prominent only after february or march 53 when the figther bomber sabres replaced thunderjets and whatnot. Before that it was mixed bag of Es and slowly increasing F from aug 1952. Imo, this is the sabre we should have had or included
  12. Read the manual guys. In there you´ll find a very pleasant surprise regarding the high mach uncommanded roll and what to do about it. Cheers
  13. Just to chime in about historical references. The sirena -1 didn´t start to appear on Russian jets in Korea until March 1953. You can find this in the Seidov books or this other Russian book called "Mig -15 fighter " by Arsenev. I wrote this long rant on the DM models and state of affairs for Korea jets but got logged out of forum and can´t be bothered to do it again. Next time. Cheers, Kong
  14. Thank you ED for heeding to common sense and partnering with Heatblur who have had the multicrew dev experience, to make the most iconic fighter aircraft! Definitely getting my monay on this one!
  15. From what I´ve gathered on different sources including the Mig15bis manual, the airbrake would automatically deploy in the later versions of the mig 15bis (post summer 1952) only below 5000m of altitude. This was where the high speed uncommanded roll was notably dangerous. At high altitude, the mig 15 pilots overcame the issues at high mach numbers using aileron reversal with rudder imputs as curly pointed out, in the same direction of the roll. This is modeled in DCS very well. when you get to mach 0.95 mig starts vibrate heavily just as indicated in the manual and different sources. I was asking myself this question not along ago, how the hell did mig pilots score kills on sabres if the sabres were above mach 0.9? As for the spins I´m not so sure either. All of the sources I´ve read on the spins are from western ones mostly regarding the test pilots comments following the mig 15bis defection. I too have the feeling that it is too easy get out of one. On one hand it´s a sim and modeling has limitations. On the other... a lot of simmers spend a lot more hours perfecting out skills than the actual pilots had in real life. After not flying for a couple months came back in the mig and got myself into a nasty spin and wouldn´t have pulled out if i had been at 1000m. So to me it´s probably a combination of the two and I don´t thinkg the mig was that much more dangerous in spins than other aircraft. Kong.
  16. Yep I agree. The other ww2 sim has this implemented and the G model is fantastic, but there is a debate atm whether the stamina bar is too low. I´m fine with introducing it as long as it simulates an above average fit pilot, because let´s face it, we fat sim f*ks like to think of ourselves as sh*t hot ace pilots.
  17. Pilot: Viektong Aircraft: Mig 21bis (reserve)
  18. More Maps. Korea, Vietnam and Sinai peninsula to name a few.
  19. Guys the combat environment in the other sim and this one vs real life is very different. The p47 during the war in 1943 was up against the 109 g-6 w/o MW-50 and it fought it at high altitudes in large numbers. There was a hard deck that the p-47 wasn´t allowed to go below ( even though they did at times). In the sim, p-47 on most MP servers are fighting against 109 g-14s, D-9s and K-4s and at lower altitudes because ppl aint got time to climb 30 min to 30 000 feet. Gee, no wonder it´s a turd. The p47 wasnt a beast ppl make it out to be. It was very good in the flight areas it excelled at and in 1943-mid 44.
