  1. For anyone looking for a workaround for now: I did some digging in the mission editor luas to see where the water depth is being checked. Turns out, ships have a draft value that gets checked against water depth. Now, I could not find that value in the ships luas from the SA Assets, so I guess there's some default value for shiptype or something like that. Anyway, long story short, you can overwrite whatever is default by adding GT.draft = yourvalue_in_meters to ships. You can find the ones from the SA Asset pack here:
  2. I just stumbled over the exact same problem while trying to build a scenario for May 21st 1982 ... this is really a shame. That bay is one of the most prominent spots of the Falklands war. The Brits brought their whole landing fleet into that bay, including a patrolling frigate, the HMS Plymouth.
  3. I, and I know I speak for many others, rather have options to create the experience I am looking for instead of being told "this is the new product now, deal with it". It would not hurt anyone to have both options available until Sniper is available. Have realism where you want it and have compromise where you need it, all up to the user.
  4. The values in world.lua looked like they would to the trick, but I set the value for BMP-1 to 30 seconds to test it, placed a BMP-1 in mission editor, blew it up, but it still burned 500s. Checked twice that I edited the correct file and put the correct unit on the map. I must be missing something.
  5. That is not the problem described here at all. Can you please have a closer look at the problem? I know you do sometimes and that's very appreciated, but here you did not. MFDs are too dark in many lighting situations. Max brightness is still too dark. This is not "correct as is" by any means. Thanks.
  6. I had a similar problem with the M2000C once. Reason was, my antivirus quarantined one the M2000C files.
  7. It is a big problem and I have been annoyed by it for years now - especially in VR. The forum unfortunately does not represent the severity of some of those problems we have.
  8. Unless people keep talking about this being an issue, it will be de-prioritized again and again and again. Heck even moaning about it will most likely not lead to any change but it's all we can do. I am invested deep into this product and I will keep questioning horrendous decisions like this, especially when we get "it's about cheating guys, you need this!" - It's insulting.
  9. more than 2 years later. Yeah I think there IS a need to keep bumping this.
  10. I wish I could refund all the planes I just bought in the sale before realizing what they did. Not having the SAM mod basically kills everything I had in mind for the Viggen and F5. Way to go ED, clouds, yay. There is no widespread problem with cheating. There is a widespread problem with bugs, broken and missing features that get fixed by mods. You might have to tell people "disable your mods" during support a lot, that seems to be the problem you're trying to fix. And it is a bad way to fix it when it impacts the gameplay for so many people so much.
  11. Seems unlikely here with those low altitudes I am seeing on the screenshots but for me the altitude was the issue at some point. I ran into that recently. It was set to 28.000ft but when it reached the bombing waypoint it was not up there yet. It did circle back to go for its bombing run once it did hit hit the altitude.
  12. @[ED]Obi @BIGNEWY @NineLine can we get a hotfix patch for this? it is absolutely game breaking in many situations. should not wait days, weeks or months when the fix has already been found. please.
  13. You're absolutely right about the HMD, I misinterpreted that one. It's even adjustable in the settings to left, right or both eyes. Well, lighting, clouds, ... more than enough things out there that really are only rendered in one eye and shouldn't be.
  14. Yeah, wingman AI has been broken for years and you can't even ask their fuel state. It's not the campaign, it's a general problem with AI using after burner all the time. I wish we'd get some hint if there's a roadmap for AI development to finally get a useful wingman.
