  1. agreed. we definitely need a feature to manage the attachments. I haven't even found something where I can see my quota.
  2. I agree. Getting familiar with the new forum is much easier now than it was on day one. I still miss the opportunity to sort "POSTS" with newest first because "LATEST ACTIVITY" does not do the job for it lacks important stuff like signatures, avatars and attachments. plz ED give us a sort button on "POSTS" (EDIT: defaul by an option) and a faster response on "NOTIFICATIONS" and this :cry: starts turning to :)! thank you.
  3. Ok by me if it would be just an option from the beginning. So not exactly like the IFLOLS.
  4. I know it is no hot news but for those who missed it: new posts (and new topics) are back. (EDIT: For mobile version: ) Just open the menu icon in the top left corner. :thumbup: Thanks!
  5. Seems to be resolved. I subscribed to both of the mentioned subforums. :thumbup: Thanks!
  6. lol we got to ask Heatblur for that and next: a Polaroid camera! ;)
  7. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: All I need is a time machine ;)
  8. This! Once you got used to the position behind the tanker which is much larger than you might think, you will tell ready precontact just once.
  9. You are welcome. And thanks for the thread. Every reason to fiddle around in the Hornet cockpit is a good one! ;)
  10. Well on a 4k 42 inch monitor there is absolutely no problem to see the lights perfectly even at daytime. So it does not seem ED modelled the lights "hard to see" on purpose. Imho.
  11. Thanks a lot Elmo and whole RAZBAM team. What an update:thumbup:
  12. Thank you. Should have read it myself. Well, testing is much more fun with simple things. automatic brake retraction in the FA-18C is not that trivial as I learned today.
  13. Maybe I haven't got the point here yet, but when I mark a mark point (lets say M1) and unselect "SEQ1" in HSI, then chose the M1 and now press "WYPT" I'm able to set a course with CRS switch. Exactly as with waypoints. do I miss something here?
  14. that's interesting. and you are right. speed brakes do not retract only by gear down and the AoA they start to retract is about 24° (with flaps half and full) not 20°. with flaps to auto they start to retract at about 29° (with gear down AND up!). What strikes me too, is when you exceed 29°, AoA brakes start to retract and if you decrease AoA to less than 29° while they do, then they stop and keep their partially extended position. my memories of this have been somewhat different. I did not notice the change, because I got used to pressing and holding brakes while gear deployment and high AoA's when I wanted to brake. thanks for the correction. EDIT: Tested some more, and I saw that brakes retract with flaps down below 245 kn IAS. And they only stay extended whith holding brakes key while below 245 kn. No matter what gear or AoA states are. so that is the behaviour OP saw too. thanks for the thread nicksmi and for your reply Stubbies. every day is a school day ;) EDIT2: use of afterburners is also significantly decreasing the AoA threshold for automatic brake retraction. guess we have a case of "RTFM" here, better than testing all combinations :music_whistling:
  15. Hi nicksmi, Hornet's speed brakes are always retracting with deployment of gear. That's intended. And brakes retract with an AoA of 20° or more IIRC. Are you sure you had an AoA less than 20? When I need to brake anyway I press and hold brakes extend key.
  16. have you found out how to manage all attachments, not only pictures, yet? I feel stupid for not finding it myself. :(
  17. Ok, forget about the mark points! I just found out that it has nothing to to with mark points. It is already like described just with waypoints. the first two work with WPDSG, the third waypoint + WPDSG forces the issue already. see track. the track also shows the issue with pressing TGT (on HSI page) and then WPDSG (while beeing in that "bugged" state). (I never had that issue before, so I mistakenly thought it was introduced with mark points.) FA-18C WPs and WPDSG 03.trk
  18. I found a work around that might help to investigate whether it is a bug or a feature: after the first two WPDSG-tries with two mark points (what always works fine), pressing WPDSG with the third mark point sets the TGP to snow plow mode and starts the issue. In this state pressing WPDSG does what described above: TGP shows the mark point for a fraction of a second and quickly ends in snow plow mode. when I now press undesignate and then WPDSG, the TGP shows the correct markpoint. but I now have to undesignate every time before switching to another markpoint and WPDSG. (remember: for the first 2 mark points, pressing undesignate was not needed.) another thing that strikes me is, when I have slaved the TGP to a mark point in that "bugged" state, pressing TGT on the HSI (or SA) page, followed by WPDSG sometimes work correctly and sometimes ends in that "bugged" state again, where undesignating is required to get out of it. (btw: this is not related to any weapons. I just tested it with a clean Hornet with just a TGP attached.)
  19. hi, haven't found anything about this yet, so here we go. using latest DCS stable (still same version as latest OB) without mods. When I use the new (and appriciated feature) of mark points in the Hornet, I get the following issue (see short track, up there): after marking 4 different mark points, I do WPDSG to check them and try to slave TGP to those mark points. that works fine with the first two of them. starting with mark point 3 I always get a strange behaviour: WPDSG lets the TGP jump for a fraction of a second to the markpoint and then it turns to a point somewhere else (EDIT: this is obviously the snow plow mode of the TGP). even when I now try to WPDSG the two mark points that worked before, I get the same issue. when I try to go back to SEQ1 (my flightplan) and try to WPDSG any waypoints, the issue won't let me. (Issue is 100% reproduceable here. I have this in NTTR, too and did not test other maps.) any ideas? (EDIT/hint: if you use "LATEST ACTIVITY" in the new forum, the track is not shown. Only in "POSTS"-format, you can see it below. Tried to use "insert" so it was a link in the text above, but the link had strange issues too. once it led me to the track file, but afterwards it led me to the forums main page, so I removed it from the text.) 20. thanks for sharing. interesting that the max range marker of this screenshot is much closer to that we have in DCS. and in the original YT video, we can see that it is not moving as the aircraft pulls up (exactly as expected). and: AGR is not used/displayed here. it seems that there is some influence on the max rage we don't know here yet.
  21. You're welcome. For me it was impossible to get the max range marker significantly further than this. Not by speed and not by other dive angles. I don't have the knowlede whether different ammo can be the reason, though. General Dynamics lists a lot of advantages of their PGU ammunition, but larger range is not on that list explicitly. (But apart form that, I'm always amazed how close DCS is to the real thing. The fact that we are disussing such details is more a compliment for ED than a complaint. imho)
